One of the most disappointing parts for me is to see my childrens freedom of movement taken away.
But that's the issue freedom of movement will not be stopped just limited. people who have skills needed in other countries will always be able to move around what it will stop is mass immigration of unskilled workers

Genuine question, has ‘mass immigration’ affected you personally? If so, how.

Because I don’t recognise that as an issue to me

The housing crisis, the transport crisis, the lack of community, the NHS struggling, changes to our culture, road congestion.

Here is just some things mass immigration has contributed to negatively. It’s definitely not solely to blame and in some instances, not even the majority of the contribution but to say it’s had no negative impact just isn’t true.

There wasn’t mass immigration, and we need unskilled workers from somewhere. We are constantly told we are at or near full employment. Thats with FOM in place so obviously those extra people are needed. Skilled workers could always come, always will be able to. Doubt very much there will be a reduction in immigration maybe they’ll just come from different places.

Obviously we have different views on this probably best to move on and watch the match.

Is suggest the government not building houses, not investing into infrastructure such as road and rail as well as making the NHS an unattractive place to work is more to do with it

But put the UKIP leaflet down for a moment. I asked the poster how it affects him/her

I have house, roads could be better and I go private for health. But I could get a GP appointment tomorrow if I wanted one

Can you give specific examples of how ‘mass immigration’ has negatively impacted you

Loads of people haven't got a house, loads of people can't afford to go private, and as for getting a GP appointment loads of people have to wait a week even longer if you're doing OK it doesn't mean that's the norm.

If you’re going to throw cheap shots about a UKIP leaflet, at least read what I’ve written properly and understand the point.

Put the liberal leaflet down.

I specifically said the below, to negate us having to discuss the other contributing factors-

It’s definitely not solely to blame and in some instances, not even the majority of the contribution but to say it’s had no negative impact just isn’t true.

But you went ahead anyway and did it.

It’s negatively affected me when I’ve had to stand on a train, been stuck in traffic, applied for a job, waited for hours in A&E, wanted to live in a community with local traditions, wanted to buy a house.

Of course I don’t blame the people themselves, I’d move to another country if my way of life was to be improved but with us being overpopulated as it is, it’s poor government policy to let and even try to push nearly half a million more through every year, often completely changing communities in a short space of time and adding to infrastructure already under strain.

Trains? You are blaming a poor train service on ‘mass immigration’. I rarely get trains but I do get the Metrolink from time to time and ‘mass immigration’ would be very low down on the list of reasons it’s rubbish

Traffic? I don’t know the nationality of those sat in front of me at the lights, how do you? I also don’t know the nationality of those who were successful at a job interview ahead of me. May I ask how you do? But I can’t remember the last road that was built in the past 20 years, maybe that’s the main issue

A minister is on the telly as I type taking about more investment in infrastructure. Given nothing has changed since Friday, it makes you wonder why they didn’t do it sooner....

In addition, I used to work in the NHS and then for a charity which provided healthcare services - I can count on two hands(that’s being generous) the amount of EU nationals I came into contact with

I’m going to ask again as I’m afraid you didn’t really answer. How has ‘mass immigration’ affected you directly?

I live in South Manchester, moved here from Prestwich. I’ve been here over 6 years but I still don’t know that ‘local traditions’ are....

The only Eastern Europe I come into contact with is a nursery teacher where the little one goes. In terms of traffic, the only issue is when the foreign City players park there cars on the road when they go to the dentist next door. Oh, and an Irishman who goes to the local pub

So, you. How does it affect your daily life. I know you’ve been playing with this new right-wing thinking over the past few weeks but pretending not to know what’s really going on, on minimising it, really doesn’t do you or the debate any favours

Universal credit and not building enough houses is more to do with the housing issue than ‘mass immigration’

Maybe if the NHS was an attractive place to work then people would t have to wait as long. Genuine question, how many EU nationals have you bumped into the GP waiting room? Maybe if the government hadn’t frozen their wages for the best part of 20 years and junior doctors were not demonised by the media then perhaps we wouldn’t have thousands of vacancies and the NHS would be able to provide a good service

The reason I went private is because there is a 4 month wait for ENT. I genuinely can’t imagine that is due to ‘mass immigration’. Are the Poles and Germans really clogging up the ear, nose and throat department? Really?

That reply had little or nothing to do with my post.

My post pointed out that you go private where your health is concerned, you have your own house and you're doing OK. My point is that those well down on the rung don't have it so lucky.

As for build more houses more people will come and the cycle continues, as for EU nationals in waiting rooms up and down the country of course there are loads and of course this causes stress on the NHS which dowsn't need funding it needs restructuring, it's as wasteful as the BBC.

Why are you struggling so much to understand what I’m writing?

You’re more intelligent than this.

Mass immigration means a higher population - if things are too busy now then adding more is going to make it worse.

I have specially said TWICE now, that immigration might not be the only factor, it might not even be the major factor in the examples I gave, but it’s still a CONTRIBUTING factor.

My direct report is from Eastern Europe, she’s great but the whole point is on mass immigration, which can make wholesale changes to communities and put strain on infrastructure, which it evidently has as the population has swelled.

Well go and speak to an elderly person who’s lived in Levenshulme their entire lives and ask how it’s changed, ask someone who has to walk through Piccadilly Gardens every day and walk past the Eastern European drug dealers and gangs.

I don’t even think mass immigration is the main issue with society but you asked and insinuated there are no negative effects and that’s just nonsense.

I’ve always had these views mate, FOM was one of the few things I disliked about our EU membership.

No, he’s struggling to understand it.

I can't figure it out it's just simple logistics, too many people not enough resources. If we build more hospitals houses then more people would have come, it'd be a never ending spiral. If new houses were built and our population remained the same the value of peoples houses would drop and home owners in general wouldn't like that, overall it's a mess.

Exactly.

There are several contributing factors, including people living longer but adding 1m people every couple of years is madness.
