There’s a very good chance major scientific breakthroughs, the green revolution and other world changing things could happen in Britain.

For example our guys have made the furthest progress on a vaccine for the Coronavirus I heard.

The thing about this is that it has taken nearly 4 years for the UK to admit the bleeding obvious. By acknowledging that the UK will have to implement border checks as it seeks to diverge from the EU system, the Govt now accept that Brexit involves trade-offs in terms of market access and barriers. The past few years of pretending this either wouldn’t happen or we could negotiate it away has gone. That is progress of a sort.

Were they are still being dishonest is not giving business time to adapt, specifying exactly what the barriers will be nor investing in new infrastructure or expanding old infrastructure, recruitment, IT etc to handle the increased volume in checks and admin. But we are scoping out ‘plans’ for a NI/Scotland bridge.

The EU has shaped what Brexit will look like, imposed an internal customs border within our own Union and got £39 billion with no guarantee or promise of a future trade deal. But hey we are pumped about the new bridge. A bridge that will need a customs area at one end.

stupid thing is the problems with import and export will be there in Jan 2021 - the idea of a laughable bridge won't be
