Pretty sure that City are not interested with anything that CAS decides, as far as I can make out, as a layman when it comes to things legal, City want this in a proper court. City beating UEFA would allow investment back into football. Why should not the likes of Newcastle, Everton and any other team, not necessary PL, have the same opportunity as us.I think this battle will either make or break football.

Why even bother going to CAS in the first place then?

And the truth is.....nobody knows and UEFA are not saying.
 
Whatever the outcome I reckon there will be an even bigger shunning of the CL by our support in future. Many, like me, have been ambivalent towards this competition in recent years so even if we get the ban overturned this ambivalence will increase. If we do serve a one or two season ban then loads will never go to a CL game again in my view.

My fear is it is going to be us. Going right back to the original case when we were fined we kept on being told by any number of "In the know" people and experts we were safe, nothing to worry about, we would pass ffp. We failed. Khaldoon said, "This time we will take a pinch." Now we are here. Months and months of wrangling, again people saying we would be okay, nothing to worry about, Sam Lee of the athletic saying he had it on good authority we wouldn't be banned then BANG! Two year ban. The club keep on making a lot of noise but keep on losing. There is an old saying, "You can't beat the system" and I guess that applies to football too. We are up against some very powerful institutions who are also backed by a hostile media. CAS, in whom we are placing our faith, have already rejected one appeal, so going to them again doesn't fill me with a great deal of confidence. I hope I am totally wrong and we smash these bastards to smithereens but right now I'm not feeling it.
 
So we are a year or two down the line after the nuclear winter has passed City having unleashed a football/soccer weapon of mass destruction . How does the football/soccer world look then ?

Uefa has handed Manchester City a two-season European club competition ban and a 30m euros (£25m) fine after it found the club guilty of committing "serious breaches" of the governing body's club licensing and financial fair play regulations.

Below is a timeline of events:
  • 5 November, 2018: German publication Der Spiegel claims Manchester City and their sponsors manipulated contracts to circumvent Uefa's Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations. The German news magazine says the club allegedly misled Uefa by not revealing they had directed money to the club from Abu Dhabi owner Sheikh Mansour via sponsors linked to him, and artificially inflated the value of their commercial income to help meet FFP rules requiring clubs to break even. City say they will not be commenting on the claims.
  • March 2019: Uefa begins investigating the club for potential breaches of its FFP regulations. It says: "The investigation will focus on several alleged violations of FFP that were recently made public in various media outlets."
  • 13 May, 2019: The New York Times reports that members of the investigatory chamber of Uefa's financial watchdog - the Club Financial Control Body (CFCB), which is effectively the 'prosecution' in this process - were pushing for expulsion from the Champions League for at least one season.
  • 16 May, 2019: City say they are "disappointed, but regrettably not surprised" after being referred to Uefa's financial control body adjudicatory chamber.
  • June 2019: City file an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (Cas). They challenge Uefa's decision to refer them to its financial watchdog, the CFCB, which would decide on any punishment.
  • November 2019: City fail in an initial bid to have Cas halt Uefa's investigation.
  • 12 February, 2020: Cas publishes documents that show City sought damages from Uefa for what they alleged were "unlawful" leaks to the media with regards to an inquiry into possible FFP breaches. The documents also show senior Uefa official Yves Leterme had dismissed the club's claims, stating they were "groundless" and "unacceptable in tone".
  • 14 February, 2020: City are banned from European club competition for the next two seasons after being found to have committed "serious breaches" of Uefa's club licensing and financial fair play regulations. The Premier League champions say they are "disappointed but not surprised" by the "prejudicial" decision and will appeal.

The ironic thing though is that since the last set of sanctions, City have actually been carrying out the FFP program to the letter.

We've gone from huge spending and losses to profit and burgeoning revenues. This really proves that FFP was not about putting in place financial safeguards for football but it was all about ring-fencing and protecting a small group of clubs.

Unfortunately the BBC and the Guardian are well onside with UEFA and we fight alone.

At least now our own fans will get behind us in the same way that we did in the 1990s. I hope too that Sheikh Mansour will return to the front foot that characterised the first years of his ownership. You can not negotiate and compromise with people who are set on destroying you.

Yes we should prove that we didn't break the rules but the whole narrative goes out of the window when FFP is deemed to be the cheat.

Where do we put the asterisks if that happens? Will any of these journalists go after any of the clubs implicated in getting a bent law in place, if proven links can be established?

Chances of blowing out FFP are minimal. Rules sanctioned by EU Commission. The case in the Belgian courts got nowhere, even when the court agreed with us.

When we win our appeal we go after all the club's who alow sponsorship by certain parties who basically wash money through them ,we know who they are as the have been done for it by the u s authority's ,let's start looking under all the rocks city the fight back begins now ,as storming Norman one said shock and awe let's do it let's show the world who is corrupt
