I just hope we have better relationships at exec level with CAS than UEFA do, or we have other levers we can use.

Rarely are these things decided on what’s right or wrong. It’s lobbying, relationships and deals or the ‘levers’.
Martin Samuel pointed out that UEFA are probably the CAS's single biggest client. It shouldn't make any difference, but it definitely could. Although it's interesting because it suggests that of all of the world's governing bodies, their decisions are challenged the most.

You didn’t fancy adding to the 1500+ pages there already was in the thread on this?
No I thought this was an important matter that deserved it's own thread. Maybe the expertise or information is not available at this time? But I thought it might be good to discuss in isolation. Mods feel free to combine if you don't agree ;-)

Dont fuck with Abu Dhabi, plus the people’s republic of China’s government have a vested interest in this. Cyber attack on our enemies from the United Arab Emirates secret service? It’s fair game if the dippers can do it.
We are owned by one Sheikh. One of about 500 in the UAE. Similarly what's the connection with the PRC?

This is going to get interesting for sure...

It sounds from the rumblings that the club are arming for all out legal war with UEFA and a lot of posters seem to think that if we go to a "traditional" law court then FFP will be binned (I really hope so)

But is there any precedent for a law court ruling on a sporting bodies regulations?

From a business point of view FFP is surely illegal - like other blues I agree that a rule that stops an owner from investing in his own business breaks international law (I think?)

But from a sporting point of view a ruling body like UEFA can impose any rules they want... And any club wanting to participate in that sport / competition has to abide by those rules? SO if they brought out a rule saying that all players had to wear odd socks then they would have to? (stupid example I know)

So I have no way of knowing how it will play out in a court (if it gets that far) I hope FFP get's folded into a nice package and UEFA have to bend over and spread their cheeks to "file it" ;)
Sort of. But they still have to abide by contracts they've signed, and they're unlikely to include the clause "We can punish your club however we want for whatever we want." It wouldn't of course be a criminal matter, but it could easily be something that would get them sued (unless there was proven corruption involved).

Great no-one to play left wing with yrs of adjustments to peps style
Sane is off anyways & Sterling fuck me he has just hit the wall..

I would put my mortgage on him being closely behind Leroy wanting out over this shit.

It's big money & it looks like we are going to need it..

We have options nobody is bigger than the club

Youngsters have to be given some games otherwise we have more Sancho's on our hands.

People dont realise the bigger picture & problem we have here.

I wouldnt be surprised if contracts are worth jack shit if found guilty???

As stated in this tweet, i think the difficult task for City is not the problem of the fair value of their sponsors (they can say the value was accepted by UEFA in 2014) but the fact they are accused of untruthful reporting of their financial situation. And this is prolly on this axis UEFA will try to justify their sanction.

Your point on sponsorship agreed.
But as to your second point the tweet doesn't mention 'untruthful reporting of their financial situation', it refers to ' failing to co-operate' in the investigation' , an entirely different thing.

A source close to the City squad believes some players will want to leave if the ban is not overturned. The club’s leading names have no need to line up potential moves before the outcome of the CAS case as they know they will not be short of suitors. [

a bit concerning but understandable

Any players who want to leave because of this can leave. We need players who’s attitude mirrors the solidarity, loyalty and grit of the fans.

I had to read this aloud in my best creative voice.
