Absolutely. As disease is no respector of race, class or privilege it could reshape global politics. Trump and other leaders of his age could be snuffed out, Merkel isn't a well lady nowadays, and I'm sure there are potentially a few more. Obviously we'll all be keeping Glenn Hoddle and Ian Duncan Smith in our prayers.

Poor Hoddle, he'd be reincarnated as a virus. A completely ineffective one too.

I'm 67 I'm asthmatic
Will be cancelling my end of March cruise to Italy, unfortunately insurance doesn't cover me cancelling it cos I'm worried.

At what point does it become impractical to follow up new cases and try to identify all the people who came in contact with them? What resources would be required to follow up yesterday’s 30+ cases? And if there’s a similar number today? Who actually carries out this work? Is there a specialist unit or is each hospital or trust responsible for doing it? Presumably they’re not still trying to do this in Italy?
