This is why we won’t win the champions league, he can’t help himself, it’s almost as if he has to prove he’s smarter than everyone in the big ties when simply doing what we’ve been doing for the last 3 years would be better. Well he’s been bested by a Norwegian coach driver that failed miserably at Cardiff 3 times in one season now, if that doesn’t say stop fucking around to him, nothing will.

After the subs we looked better but we still didn’t create much, mahrez was dangerous and should have started. Didn’t need two holding players when all they do is play it long down the channels and just ignore that area of the pitch, you arguably don’t even need 1 yet we played 90 minutes with two. Actually think gundogan played alright first half it was his position rather than his performance that was the issue. Foden was more involved centrally but we needed both him and Bernardo in there. We were playing with a man light all game with Sterling on the pitch. Criminal how he didn’t get dragged off at halftime nevermind get another anonymous 90 minutes. Mahrez has every right to be pissed off at being benched when he’s seeing Sterling play game after game and do literally nothing.

Like to end on a positive but the single positive I can find from that is Cancelo had a decent game.

Why? One focuses on the task in hand. The other has his eyes on the next/next but one/two/three game and transmits that to his players. One understands the significance of derbies, The other views them as any old game.

The most annoying thing about this is that they deserved the win. Before this season, we might lose occasionally to them but only to a fluky goal after dominating the game. But here we were out-fought for most of the game and they had more threat going forward even though we dominated possession. More desire, better work rate and seemingly tactically superior too.

Don’t know what more is there to say about Sterling. Form has fallen off a cliff but he has improved since his injury. The biggest issue is yet again him missing absolute sitters. That was a criminal miss that I would only expect shit players like Manure’s to miss.
