Are they designs ? Could be artists impressions... designed as part of an ongoing media campaign. Not sure there are detailed and costed plans behind this bravado.

There is neither a timetable or any projected costs for this 'revamp'.

It's a low cost tactic to try to undermine the proposed new arena.

Will they be able to write off the costs if it doesn't happen towards FFP??

Not really. Intu's problems are a consequence of shopping progressively moving online. But demand for events is growing - or was until C-19 intervened. However, that should pass.

Thats up to OVG, they wouldn’t build it if they didn’t think they could find enough events to make it viable. Probably not just music either.

Yup .... for good reasons. Unless you are on the floor no further back than the mixing desk, (the most expensive seats) the sound is notoriously poor. It wasn't built with the any consideration for acoustics. The proposed new arena will be.
In addition the whole place is tired and dated .... So many choose to avoid gigs there.

You should get in touch asap with Oak View to tell them to scrap their plans with immediate effect.All those months of feasibility studies and planning a £300m investment were pointless, cause the 'MEN is rarely sold out'.

Which is of course total bollocks. The current Arena is a 25 year old out of date sports venue unsuitable for gigs that is still the 10th biggest grossing Arena in the world !!!

I think Oak View know what they are doing.

Talking about concerts , I wonder why the Academy Stadium or even the Athletic's Stadium is never used for concerts for less bands ?
They both must hold around at least 10 thousand for concerts ?
