COVID-19 — Coronavirus

First time I’ve heard about pregnancy being potentially on a watch list. - that will stress a lot of mothers and fathers to be; but he is stressing that there is no definitive data to back this up from other Coronaviruses on pregnant women and they are being ultra cautious.
The real kicker is that in the treatment of COVID related pneumonia there's a belief that the drug of choice could be thalidomide.

I’ve recently just started watching — did they actually say “you won't get it again”?

There is evidence for and against reinfection and there is absolutely no possibility of us knowing which is true with any real certainty at this time, so I would be very surprised by the certainty implied by that statement. It would be unfortunate at best and negligent at worst.

One of the biggest unknowns is how long the immunity lasts: 2-3 months or say 20-30 months or even more.

They ask first and if people don't listen, they'll enforce I should think.

I don’t think we are in a position to keep delaying things. If places are open people will still go. Don’t give them the choice. As someone put above, we should cut social contact, not go pubs or restaurants but go work and kids go school. Backwards.

We are all doomed, I remember the guys walking around Maine road with signs on them saying the end is nigh, maybe it’s finally here.

I remember those placard blokes. I guess if you stick at it long enough it eventually comes true. Judging by the ages of those blokes though I guess their end was a long time ago now.

Funny they didn't move with us to the new stadium, if they did I haven't seen them.

Yes i still don't understand not closing school, the answer wasn't clear other than kids don't seem to be getting ill
Cos the little buggers can run around as carriers and not be affected themselves and the thinking is if they are off school it will spread quicker as it would be a nightmare for parents to keep their kids in at home

A video of what i was trying to explain to some on here a few days ago.
People taking things into their own hands and recommending everybody self isolate to early, can actually cause more harm than good.
We had some numpties calling people technical murderers for not following their advice FFS.

I'm emergency action and first response trained. I've seen people run headlong into a situation thinking they are helping.
A lack of apparent action, doesn't mean nothing is actually happening.
I've had to save a few "Chicken Littles" from themselves on many an occasion.

There are always cases of people getting an infection twice, like they have said going off the data this is a rare occurrence. Let us hope it stays that way.
It is very, very early days when it comes to proper data collection and making any confident inferences from data available, so I sincerely hope they did not make a sweeping statement implying people cannot be reinfected (for various reasons). I did not hear it so I am hoping someone can confirm it was more a passing comment qualified with something like “it seems based on current data it is unlikely a person will become reinfected after recovery but we will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as we have more confidence in those assessments”.

He said at the end of answering about testing you can't get it again,a journo picked up on it and gave the example of the man getting it twice,he said there is nothing here to suggest you can get it twice but in a rare situation you might,he didn't look like he knew the answer, just said we are still learning
I don't know if i am still contageous 3 weeks from infection or if i am now immune or if i can get this again, they have not been at all clear

Remember seeing one with it over his head and down to his waist scruffy cu nt as-well

Don't go to pubs, cinemas or restaurants but they are not closing them. They didn't even ban mass gatherings, what a load of bollocks.

They can’t be clear when they don’t know can they. Anyone who’s had it should follow the same guidelines as everyone else I’d say, keep yourself safe.

Of course — nearly any disease/condition can go undiagnosed, either because the symptoms have not manifested to a degree that the person is aware of it, it has been misdiagnosed or incorrectly ignored during medical diagnostics, or the person is unable or unwilling to seek medical assessment even though they are aware of abnormalities in their body.

Unfortunately, this is a topic for which I have recent firsthand experience.
Your last para re undiagnosed leukemia I can also write more about.

Constantly throughout the press conference they reminded everyone this is a new virus and they are learning more each day ect, at the moment the data is showing reinfection is extremely rare. Nothing wrong with any of that imo.

I thought he said something along the lines of that that with any virus (of this nature) there are very exceptional cases where individuals get the virus more than once.

If they had been clear about it i could be able to help my elderly neighbours as it is i can't be sure so i am not able to risk it
