15 days? Shit my concept of time is so off, feels much longer agoWembley was only 15 days ago, why did you go the piss for 13 days in build up, what did you eat bat?
How are you feeling lad?Just to confirm, I’m the fourth case in cheadle hulme.
Terrible though the Italy figures are, there is some small ray of hope in them. The numbers of deaths is a good indicator, since it's very accurate, not open to interpretation and we're not relying on extrapolations of how many people may or may not have been infected and not tested, or anything like that. It's a cold, hard, measurable stat.
Anyway, here's the data:
If this was pure exponential growth, you'd expect to see a horizontal line, say +25% more deaths per day. That would be exponential growth. if the trend is downwards, that is good news and would seem to imply that things are slowing down... or at least not accelerating as fast as you'd expect. There's not many data points yet, but there would seem to be a declining trend. And very hard to extrapolate, but again, it might imply that sometime in the next couple of weeks or so, the Italy daily deaths may start to fall.

Italy’s population is a lot older than ours and they also tend to live in bigger numbers as a family i.e. grandmother, kids and grandchildren so three generations under one roof. Not saying that doesn’t happen here but more so there.demographic and way of living of Northern Italy is not that different to UK. Turin/Milan is quite heavily industrial. Rest is mixture of towns and villages. It’s not all 80 year olds living in mountain villages
DittoGood luck mate hope you make a full and swift recovery
Expected to be over 100 by Wednesday evening. Can’t believe it’s 55 deaths here already. Those poor families
For those saying people need to be forced to stay in and not just asked to, do you think there’s actually a practical way of being able to achieve it? They could come out and threaten fines but who’s going to be enforcing it?
Police? Army personnel?
Not having a go, just wondering.
Drove through Cheadle at 6.30 and pubs and restaurants empty as are the roads so maybe people around here are being sensible. Who knows how this will pan out but hopefully we will have fewer deaths by the methods being imposed at the moment. Despite draconian measures in places like Italy infections and deaths seem to be increasing far greater than here.Ok, people won’t go because they’ve been told not to. Naive
