I'd have written off ten grand and thought about my health, that of my family and that of the wider public. Not even a difficult choice.

Easy to say that when you're not in that position. And unless you're going to a Covid-19 hot spot then the argument that you could well be less likely to catch it abroad than back home has some weight to it.

The armed forces are also looking at other large buildings and halls across the country that could be adapted into medical centres

I know! I have been watching ours and american experts and no-one can say if i am over it,infectious still or if i have any immunity and can't get it a second time, there have been some cases of people getting it again in china,i really can't fight it off a second time in my current state,an american expert said we don't know about immunity but as you can get it from other corona viruses then we are assuming you get immunity,i am not going with assuming! I haven't heard about the antibody test yet,i will be getting that i guess

You probably won't get an antibody test (or at least you won't be front of the queue), because you've tested positive and recovered. So we know you've got the antibodies.

That test is more for people who don't know if they got coronavirus or it was just seasonal flu.

That makes some sense,i really need the immunity question answered though, temporary or lifelong or can i get it again

All the evidence is you can't catch this twice'

In the House of Commons, Health Secretary Matt Hancock highlights how one of his ministers, Nadine Dorries, is back on the government front bench after recovering from coronavirus.

He says: "All the evidence is you can't catch this twice, at least in quick succession.

"So I welcome her back to her place."

Can't catch it twice at least in quick sucession,so you can catch it twice? Clear as mud

Coronavirus testing almost doubles in past week

Testing for coronavirus is being significantly ramped up, Number 10 insisted following criticism of the government's response.

On Monday there were 5,605 tests and in the last week there had been 39,840 tests.

"In the last week have almost doubled the total number of tests which are being conducted," the Prime Minister's official spokesman said.

In total there had been 83,945 tests since the start of the outbreak.

Jesus, all that wandering around ignoring the distancing and then she goes home to a husband who's just had a stroke!!

Listen to her speak as well, she isn't your average chav, it just shows stupidity and ignorance is everywhere. People are mistakenly thinking doing this somehow shows bravery and defiance when it is anything but.

This lock down is going well. Six teenagers just went past my house, pausing to all crowd around a motorbike trying to start it. Very few are taking this seriously. Instead they see it as one long extended holiday.

I think it's unfair to level the same amount of criticism at holidaymakers as it is to those who went out on the piss on Friday. Many of them were caught between a rock and a hard place having forked out - in many cases - thousands of pounds in holidays that weren't getting cancelled on them by the airlines and hotels. My boss went to Dubai with 5 other family members last week - he didn't really want to go but he'd paid over £10,000 up front and wouldn't have got a single penny back if he'd decided not to travel. He also - somewhat naively IMO - thought he'd have less chance of catching it over there than over here due to the number of confirmed cases in the UAE at the time. And guess what?
At any point at any time a country can be closed or even a hotel like early on in Tenerife, it’s downright ridiculous to go abroad in these times, to take your family with you is even more so. Gambling is exactly what they do and the many abroad now are costing way more than their original cost.

If I was you karen I wouldn't be taking any chances until we have definitive proof that you can't catch it again also where do you stand regarding being still infectious to other people?

I am not taking any chances,i am still floored anyway,i am assuming after 3+ weeks i am not contageous

Ha, I think I’ll stick with the WHO and Lancet for now. Funny as fuck that you managed to google one source (that’d you’d 100% never heard of before your googled it) to back up your (incorrect) assertion that most people now believe the death date is 0.7-1% though.

You also failed to address the point regarding death occurring 2-8 weeks after symptoms. Meaning the deaths that have happened as of today weren’t even classed as confirmed cases two weeks ago.

We’ll not know the death rate until this virus stops spreading and only then.

Even after being wrong so many times on this thread, you’re still playing everything down. Why?
