My brother in law has a collapsed lung and still being a front line paramedic during these times.

These people really are a different breed. Fair play to you brother in law. Great respect.

My wife is a nurse who is currently on immuno suppressant medication and recently had steriod treatment for a lung problem. She has been told by her GP, specialist nurse, consultant, boss, colleagues and other senior people at work to stay off work but she is having non of it. She feels there is a moral duty to her colleagues, etc. I'm not too sure I could do any of what these people have to put up with on a normal day but this is above and beyond.

thanks, i do it because i enjoy it. but it's scary as you don't feel able to protect each other. hand sanitizer is nigh on impossible to get, no masks as guess they are not deemed necessary in my role. the psychological effect of it all, walking into work through near empty streets. nowhere near as intense as the NHS and hospital staff will be experiencing mind, so i count my blessings.

Spare a thought though for the hedge fund managers, currency traders who are ready to make a killing from shorting the £.

This has shown us what the country needs to do. Most of these people putting themselves on the line are paid minimum wage or slightly more and that needs to fucking change. Every bastard who avoids tax and sends money offshore need to be hammered with appropriate taxation. They are parasites and do harm. Will Boris do this though? Will he fuck. When the shit hit the fan, it wasn't his class who saved the day. It wasn't his class who defeated Hitler either or any other fucking war. There needs to be a total rethink on who we need and pay them accordingly. If that means taxing the 5% more then fucking do it.

Beyond new protocols on delivery with parcels etc and general advice on social distancing not yet although there could be developments today. There's rumours of split shifts but how they implement that before tomorrow (busiest day of the week) I've no idea. Anyone would think they are making it up on the hoof.

my concerns in social care would be the fatigue and sickness factor amongst staff- workers and customers are told to self isolate and social distance where possible. if a percentage of the staff self isolate then the staffing levels deplete- safeguarding then becomes an issue. we should be fast tracking people into NHS environments to support what will be an overwhelmed staff team.the care system has been neglected and left to breaking point before this even happened, you only hope that most come through it unscathed. i volunteered for a local help forum few days back but not sure how this will be affected by the new government advice

Depends if her husband is coming home and you can’t find the keys
