Prince Charles has tested positive for coronavirus.

Clarence House said: "The Prince of Wales has tested positive for coronavirus.

"He has been displaying mild symptoms but otherwise remains in good health and has been working from home throughout the last few days as usual.

"The Duchess of Cornwall has also been tested but does not have the virus. In accordance with government and medical advice, the Prince and the Duchess are now self-isolating at home in Scotland.

"The tests were carried out by the NHS in Aberdeenshire where they met the criteria required for testing.

"It is not possible to ascertain from whom the Prince caught the virus owing to the high number of engagements he carried out in his public role during recent weeks."
So he has only mild symptoms but was allowed a test? So much for all in it together. Different rules for different bank balances or levels of fame.

The British did in South Africa.

I specifically said “WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME....”

China are doing it right now, with Muslims.

So why are you bringing up something that happened in the 19th century?
Totally agree that the practices you list are abhorrent and we don't see them in the UK, but, we are hardly whiter than white, given our past (and some of our present). That's all, no biggie.

Watch out for people flocking to Aberdeenshire for a test

With the best medical care taxpayers can provide, I'm sure he will be fine.
Based on pure stats, i.e. most people have mild symptoms, then I expect he will be fine too. But if you are unlucky and get it really bad, then best care or not and there's a risk of not surviving it. Plenty of people who have had the best treatment possible, have died.

This 2 metre distance has been cracking me up because actually it is virtually impossible at least 50% of the time the biggest of the probs is the tube which is 2.97metres wide I get all my news off here and some of you guys are doing a great job passing on news to us in hibernation thanks.

Got a test straight away while others are left to wonder, typical.

Fated to never be king or will he make a full recovery with the best care provided, I expect the latter

Mild symptoms, gets tested at an nhs hospital, that's equitable.

Sadly, I'm sure were going to find out what the difference the best treatment results in versus the standard.

Not sure about a full blown lockdown quite yet but think the rest of the UK will at least follow Scotlands stricter version with no construction and actually using the term lockdown in the next day or two.

Some construction sites are still operating in Scotland, if they answer to Boris, not Nicola. It is the same arguement, people choose to follow advice or not to.

Like it or not mate, we do have a Monarchy in this country, something the vast majority are supportive of. It is ludicrously unrealistic to imagine that in these circumstances we should be treating the current heir to the thrown, the same as everyone else. We don't ask the royals to queue up at Tescos or anything else us mortals have to do. What is equitable is that most people in this country, democratically are in favour of this.

Why do you insist on making these sly digs at the standard of treatment that the NHS provides to ordinary people? It’s pathetic.

You might have a point in a couple of weeks when the NHS is forced to prioritise, but at the moment everyone gets the same treatment.

There is no magic cure available just for royalty. If he doesn’t get too ill he’ll stay at home like everyone else.
