Why are the 2 main heads of the British response to coronavirus tested when showing symptoms? Is that really a question?


Why would the bloke who spends all day working with Witty and Vallance, the 2 civil servants coordinating the virus response get tested?

So, they’ve been tested and are positive, what’ll they do now, that they wouldn’t have done without the test?

This is what the Italians thought. Probably the single biggest reason why their staff went down with Covid so quickly. Essentially, non-invasive ventilation throws virus particles everywhere, potentially infecting staff and other patients who haven’t got it. As CPAP is used extensively in nursing home patients it will have been a contributing factor in the widespread of disease in care homes worldwide.
One of the lessons learned from Italy and Spain is that invasive ventilation is the only safe method, at least until staff have proven immunity.

Charles test was necessary for the reasons stated but with the private resources the royal family enjoy, why have it done by the nhs?

The real issue is, why ‘mildly symptomatic’ politicians, footballers and royalty getting tested and front line NHS staff are not?

It doesn't matter if their symptoms are mild,they are the government and soon to be king who could have given it to the queen and philip,footballers shouldn't be getting testing ahead of the nhs i agree

Self isolate. Its the exact same argument as with NHS frontline staff - if the prime minister doesn't have to self isolate then he shouldn't. The only way to know for sure is to test.

My personal view is that medical professionals and leading politicians are in the same category. One needs the other to function. I don’t however advocate shouting down and abusing those who want testing but won’t get it anytime soon because they are lower down in the hierarchy.

Invasive is indeed ‘tube down windpipe’. Non invasive is essentially using a mask.

We don't have a constitution but Laws set out by parliaments consent and our constitutional lawmaking and govrnance do not involve the monarchy except as a ceremonial thing.

The hier to the throne has no more right to imediate testing as any commoner under the UK bill of rights


As for the PM, as head of the country he needed to be tested, as does any minister.
