It isn't actually humanly possible to find a worse President than Donald J. Trump -- a stance I've taken for 20 years -- and I would have preferred Steve Bullock to Joe Biden every day and twice on Sundays. I've never liked Biden much; the only reason I do is because he can beat Trump. If Biden raped a woman, that is awful and in any normal universe should be disqualifying.

However, not sure anyone has noticed, but we aren't in a normal universe, so whether he did or didn't isn't going to matter to very many people. Hypocrisy as a sin has a headstone; Donald J. Trump and his enablers/supporters killed it a few years ago. "Whataboutism" was the murder weapon.

One of the unfortunate consequences of this for the Earth -- as I warned several times in the Trump thread -- is that this means moral and even criminal failings of a significant magnitude are now acceptable flaws for people in power or seeking power or at least will be for some time. That means victims are going to get the short shaft in any case.

I would agree with that however I suspect Biden will dismiss it and we wont hear much about it. Trump is in no place to use it against him as for Bidens one he has 20+.

What is interesting is what would happen if this did blow up and Biden had to stand down. Its a genuine question. How would they sort the mess out. I have always preffered a younger candidate. Out of those that went the distance I think Harris would be my pick, I liked PB but the voting (or lack of) from the likely homophobic groups pretty much confirmed that he would be fighting an uphil battle. What is pretty obvious to me is that Sanders will come in second to however is the consensus moderate candidate. Presumably there would have to be some other process - a vote at conference maybe?

To be clear, I would vote for Count Dracula over Trump. If this is true and he's still the nominee I would obviously still vote for Biden. I wouldn't feel good about it and would I'd prefer someone else though, as I have throughout this process, but as you say, these are extraordinary times.
