I must say people seem to be at last taking responsibility for their actions in preventing this virus spreading even further, the streets really are a lot quieter hope it continues

You could argue the point about all the European and world leaders though. China had to get to grips with it as the first country and maybe were late but once it was a known threat to the world, which it was in January, why did the world leaders all choose to ignore that? Air travel should be automatically stopped in these situations in the future until it is clear what the risks are. Had they stopped all air travel 6 weeks ago we wouldn’t be where we are now, particularly on an island like ours.

Yes, it made more people pack the pubs out than they would usually have done for an early March week.

The Monday-Thursday nights in that week Boris told everyone not to go to the pub even though the pubs would be open, saw pubs I walked past on the way home from work after 19:00 each night like the equivalent time on a normal Friday/Saturday night. Then the Friday night the pubs closed were like Christmas/NewYear’s Eve.

Trade was massively down in the on-trade that week.

I wouldn't know because the last pub I walked past or went in was on the day of the Old Trafford derby. I did notice that the roads were way more empty that week commencing 16th March so a lot of people were doing as asked. It's just a shame that those visiting pubs that week weren't.

its been here long before christmas and china are hiding the truth and put people in jail if they spoke out even top doctors was told to keep shut or else ?? like i said in this tread i got a virus at christmas time and many others as well ? its was like nothing else not flu or a chest infection but 10 times worst and you could not breath and move and talk about sweating even the bed was piss wet through every morning ? some how i got to the doctors and was give steroids and antibiotics. 6 steroids tablets had to be taken at once for 2 weeks. and it worked after about the 2nd week and i could start to feel a little better ?? it was that bad i missed the 2 home games vs everton and sheff utd

However I do think the 5700 deaths one is far far to optimistic and he does seem to have been losing a lot of credibility with that one. he predicted a peak of 260 deaths a day on 5th of april which went out the window pretty quickly.

Hopefully, across the country, more people had more sense than people in The Station in Altrincham on the weekdays when I was walking past, it was busy every evening. And a picture of The Orange Tree on the Friday night made the papers as they were queuing outside to get in.

We trusted China.
Tawain didn't and has now had 306 cases and 5 deaths as a result. They learned the lesson of SARS. The west didn't.

matey am going off how bad i was with a mystery virus they called it at christmas time ? and all the symptoms are just like cornavirus to a tee. the doctor took about 2 seconds of my time and give me a prescription and steroids ?? i am a asthmatic and for my doctor to give me a strong steroid without any question. also the time scale it took to clear up it was about 6 weeks and that is not normal for flu or chest infection
