Players you wished had stayed longer

Not really. He was a beast of a player for us from 2011 through to around 2016 or so. The best midfielder in the PL at that time, in my opinion. Peak Yaya in full flow was an awesome sight; goals at Selhurst Park and at home to Villa in the run in in 2014 spring to mind, along with the semi final and final goals in 2011. It has to be said, however, that he he contributed very little in his last 12-18 months with us. If anything, we held on to him for possibly a year longer than we should have.

That is true. I remember him being a stationary figure as the Liverpool midfield flowed round him and they smashed us 1-4 in 2015. I think he had Fernando to help him out! Two statues. (That was also the day that definitively showed up Pellegrini's limitations, as a tactical thinker). He showed occasional flashes of the old Yaya thereafter, but they were really that — flashes.
Loved Edin too, and it's great that he's gone on to an honourable second (third) career, but he was finished with us in that final season, and it showed.

John Aldridge showing his true self yet again at the final whistle, what a nasty, little , vile alcoholic individual he is.

Lol. Just watched it to see Aldo's reaction to his international team mate.

Has anyone mentioned David Wagstaffe? A fine player, sold before he reached his prime.
