Tony Adcock

I remember the poster in Shoot 1987 of Tony, blue shirt and maroon shorts. Preferred him to his swap replacement, seemed to do well but not last very long.

Still laugh about our great day out when he scored at the far end and it took us pure time to realise that we'd scored, hard to explain but if you were there you'd understand,it was so surreal and yes it was millwall!

I was there that day and I know what you mean. A few seconds to actually realise he had scored and then a few more to realise that by celebrating would wind up Millwall fans even more. Was on the special train that day and I swear to this day the escort back to the station was three times bigger than the one from the station originally. Less than 1,000 there that day I reckon.

I lived in London at the time and joined the Special escort as thought it would be safer. Dogs snarling and then it kicked off near the turnstiles and seem to recall having to walk past the Millwall stand to get to the away end. I’d say around 800 that day and it was all lads. It was 87 and not 88 as I thought when did my username. I thought it was Jan 88 but it was Dec 87. I was 18 at the time and quite a day out! London Bridge after too.

I was in with the Millwall fans, never been so frightened in my life. Don't think any of them were fooled by my expressions of dismay at the goal.

Think the battle of London Bridge might have been before the game or was it the time after we played them, memory plays tricks. I remember thinking why after we had gone through our turnstiles were there Millwall fans alongside us. As you say, despite the turnstiles being separate, once through them we all were walking together. Fun times.

Probably happened at London Bridge every game they played! Defo after game in 87 but could have been before too with them!
