Public Health England are coming out of this looking completely incompetent. Oxford University went to the press today to say that they have 150 PCR machines and hundreds of post-grad students and researchers trained to use them who could be doing testing, but PHE never replied to their offer.

Also Karen, testing was always a high priority, we just had a low capacity.

Yep. Useless.
More concerned about not breaking existing contracts and processes that deliver total consistency than saving lives.
The military needs to take over management duties.

Wasn't China blasted for the same. I don't think we should be too harsh on any country. We are all only human.

there is no cover up here as I understand it, this has just been a situation where all medical staff have been drafted into the frontline to try and face down the first and biggest outbreak in Europe, there is no suggestion that this is a deliberate policy of deceit, just overwhelmed. I am sure once the situation has settled somewhat they will be able to go back and get a better handle on the numbers. I would like to read the full article from the WSJ though.

Put it in perspective. If they only murder a couple of dozen people after being released it’s nothing in comparison to Covid or childhood deaths in Africa.
