Thanks Vic and I am only interested in appointments on merit but I might have looked at the list in too much haste before commenting. That said, if the numerator of Jewish MPs was diluted during Corbyn's latter years (and I don't have the figures), a third might not be any great shakes.

As a traditional Labour voter, the sort of issues that will inform whether I continue to vote Labour include why Starmer had such a low profile in relation to prosecuting the child grooming / rape gangs and whether the Shadow Cabinet will be in any position to criticise any future abuses in the West Bank and Gaza Strip after Leadership and Vice Leadership candidates signed up to a charter that suggests otherwise.

I'll give you a clue, when Miliband was elected leader Neil Kinnock celebrated saying "he'd got his party back". When Corbyn was elected Kinnock would have nothing to do with him, calling on him to resign in 2016.

2. Carry on with the 1970s Student Union politics that will never win power and become a protest group like George Galloway's.

The 3rd option of trying to drag the party and the country to a far-left position has not worked. It's over. All it does is guarantee Tory rule forever.

Whether corbyn was a waste of time or not, surely you are happy that the next generation were re-energized into taking an interest in politics and the future of the country.

Vast swathes of the population never register to vote and had become apathetic towards politicians.

If any good came out of corbyns time is that he got the younger voter interested in politics, as you can see from many MPs those that start out as trots, commies and bennites soon drift into centre ground thinking.

they were in far greater numbers. They learn, eventually, but they get replaced by new wide eyed idealists,
who also get their turn at devastating disappointment, and on it goes. it was ever thus.

Registeation and voter turnout from the under 30s had been declining, that is wjat am on about, also as I said many young lefties end up more liberal and even some turn to the dark side and go full conservative ;-)
