Instead it’s constantly rammed home, stay in, protect the nhs, save lives, pathetic transport graph every night. Although each death is awful we’re doing well, thank you given out to all and sundry, flattening of the curve (each minister using the same hand movements).
We’re all doing brilliantly and we thank you.
We’re doing everything we can.

what I’m trying to say is that we’ve been bullshitted left right and centre and being treated like robotic morons.
We’re in a shit storm of some magnitude and clearly for the long term. Forget summer holidays, never go in a care home, forget the boozer, forget socialising, we’ll be told soon see your nearest and dearest at your own peril.

If you look at the worldometer site for Sweden you'll see that most people are dying Mon-Fri and almost no-one at the weekend.

The figure of 185 is deaths reported today, not deaths today. There is a delay in the paperwork at the weekends.

Sweden's covid-19 death rate is falling slowly from a peak around the 7-8th April. It is down by about half from the peak now.

You are correct I wasn't but I have commentated occasionally in response to posters on here suggesting the UK should do what's Sweden's doing.

The UK death toll today was shocking enough. If pubs and restaurants had been open the last month the numbers would have been far far worse.

ps glad you're on the downward curve.
 
@Gelsons Dad, FWIW here's you graph with the BBC basic noddy graph superimposed on top. I am sorry but I really do not see what additional insight your more comprehensive data is revealing (in terms of deducing the effectiveness of school closures etc).

We are advising those who are at increased risk of severe illness from coronavirus (COVID-19) to be particularly stringent in following social distancing measures.

This group includes those who are:

aged 70 or older (regardless of medical conditions)
under 70 with an underlying health condition listed below (ie anyone instructed to get a flu jab as an adult each year on medical grounds):...

(toned down from the 12 weeks isolation that Johnson and Hancock said mid-March)

The government messaging has been diabolical, misleading and at times damn lies. I hardly believe a word they say or their scientists.

No I know it came across i said that everyone ends up in intensive care or dead, I didn't word it well I admit. I meant until they have something that controls the symptoms better and keeps the more susceptible out of hospital and intensive care.

It would be interesting how many retail workers have caught this virus as they are exposed to large numbers of people daily.

There have been 823 more deaths of people with coronavirus across the UK, according to the latest figures.

The UK Department of Health says 17,337 patients have now died in hospitals after contracting COVID-19.

There were 18,206 tests carried out in the 24 hours up to 9am on Tuesday 21 April - far short of the 100,000 a day the government has promised by the end of April

Don't worry everyone I have just received an email from a publisher who has said the following (I have deleted the name of the title) trying to sell me advertising.

It's an 8 page pull out brochure in the June issue of xxxxxxx - This issue will land on 1st June, following exit of the lockdown period.

So there we have it, the date of the end of lockdown
