Yeah it does seem too good to be true. Doctors are apparently a little baffled as to why this isn't affecting children (thankfully) anywhere near as seriously as adults though. According to this piece, respiratory diseases usually hit older people and kids worse due to vulnerable immune systems. The fact that this isn't getting kids isn't typical of these kind of diseases.

Just imagine if that was simple all along. It won't be knowing our luck...but imagine.

Pity they wasted time in the pursuit of herd immunity rather than going for the lock down from the get go. Imagine how many of those deaths in London for example stem from crowded tube trains in use whilst the official approach wan't lock down but expose as many as possible to the virus to get immunity - then the 250k deaths figure was mentioned - and now its not even certain that catching the bloody thing gives you long term immunity anyway...............yeah very insightful

Sorry to extend the British government have made mistakes. But in the grand scheme of things we seem to be getting it reasonable and more importantly believable in terms of advice. IMO

has any empathy for others,it is all about winning and having to be the best at everything,his non stop we have the best,insert any word,in the history of the world is all about keeping his job,i really believe he is the most dangerous man in the world,sacking an expert who has worked all his life for this moment and might save a lot of lives is sacked because of the man childs ego

Interesting and slightly encouraging test results from NY state. Looks like overall mortality rate is around 0.75% which is lower than the generally assumed 1%. This is based on random testing of several thousand people with and without Covid symptoms. It has infected around 14% of the NY state population of 20m, with 21,000 deaths. As NY state probably has the most cases per capita of anywhere there’s a fair chance the mortality stats are probably in the right ballpark.
