That is the harshest comment I have ever had off my Mrs and, I’d suggest, well deserved in this instance. The talk of lack of respect seems counter to the argument I’ve seen, and very much against what should be seen on a partisan site such as this.

You said yourself nobody knew where this was going or how long it would last but he still jumped in as soon as Ashley opened the door. This is the penny pinching that has him in a situation where he can't approach his players for a reduction because he made them fight like lions to get that in the first place.

My main take from it is the people he needs most won't help him when he needs them most. I don't doubt for a second if City, Utd or Liverpool and probably every other club in the league bar Newcastle needed their players to take a cut they would do it. Not spurs though, his players give him a fuck you.

Have you forgotten that Littlewoods did the same as spuds and the barcodes at first, but did a quicker U-turn than the idiot in the White House over injecting yourself with disinfectant to kill the Coronavirus!

You'd like to think that a club who were pleading poverty (or applying a cautious approach to an unknown future ;) ) not so long ago would be ordering their PR department to keep any possible multi-million pound transfers into the club kinda hush-hush, wouldn't you? Not Spurs, not with that Joey Mourinho at the wheel. Apparently he's been "winning over" PSG's right-back (Thomas Meunier) with direct telephone calls between himself and the Belgium defender with views to a summer transfer. How much would he cost? £30million?

How many tea-ladies does that equate to?

Classy Spurs, real classy.

We can't help it you Northerners stew the tea for 16 hours in a tea pot that's 300 years old with a tea cosy that Mavis from Corrie could have knitted!

What do they drink up there anyway? Yorkshire and Typhoo?
