well given they have slightly more cases than we have in the uk . It can only be either

they record Covid deaths a lot more strictly than we do . As in die of Covid, not with Covid as we do; or

Our uk doctors and nurses in the nhs are a lot poorer at treating this than their German equivalents.
Knocks 40% of the German COVID-19 hospital death stats too, so it makes Germany look really good!
Excess deaths are going to be huge there

I didn't like Nicola S before, one trick pony but now I really like her,she doesn't just repeat words like our ministers do,she fleshes it out and I feel like she is saying if you don't stick to the rules i will come round you house and give you a glascow kiss

Agree she says it as it is what we want to hear not a lot of grey area lingo.

The RKI’s official mortality figures include both people who have died of the virus as well as those infected and with underlying health problems, where the precise cause of death could not be determined.

To those who keep claiming Germany have a substantially different methodology than everyone else when it comes to recording deaths. According to the above link, that's not correct.

Interesting article below on why Germany have done better than other Western European nations. Contact tracing, early travel bans, ICU capacity, and other measures taken are the substantial differences in its approach to other European countries.

This is how they count deaths in care homes with covid and why we will never know the proper numbers

It is based on care home providers' assessment of whether COVID-19 was involved in a resident's death.

It may or may not correspond with a medical diagnosis, or be mentioned on the death
certificate

It also makes you wonder if private care homes might be suppressing their numbers.
Also, from what I'm told, residents in some homes catering specifically for dimentia aren't be certified as Covid related.

Why has there been no relaxation of the lockdown but every hour I check the news and b@ q opening, now Homebase.

mcdonalds opening, Nando’s now Burger King.

fuck it shall I just go fishing.
Hardware shops and takeaways have always been allowed open, its just taken them a while to coordinate how to do it safely I think?

Can't see how ICU capacity has anything to do with it when compared to other countries who have not had ICU overload.

Whether you have 1 space ICU bed or 4,000 spare, should not make any difference, surely? Unless we have been holding back people who really ought to have been in ICU? Which would be a scandal not yet reported.

The figures in the table are by trust.
I read it as population. I live in Stockport but my local hospital is in Manchester so go figure. Either way odd that those two trusts are at the bottom given that London is where most deaths have occurred and where there is a larger population

Which is probably right. My Grandad suffered with Althzeimers for years and eventually passed away. It was a water infection that put him in hospital for the final time but I don't think his death would have been recorded as a water infection. I actually don't know for sure but I am pretty sure he would be one of the Althzeimers deaths put down on record.
