Will there be an EU to leave?
Italy and Spain are absolutely incensed by the attitude of Germany and the Netherlands to Corona Bonds.

Indeed, a much bigger story than brexit now is the existence of the EU itself. As fellow Europeans we will doubtless be hurt by its demise, but as long as we're out before the post covid bill arrives on the doorstep of the net contributors to bail out the project then we should escape the worst of the collateral.

There will be 27 EU nations able to work through the Covid bill together - there has always been friction between the members and there will continue to be so but they know a shared approach has done much for europe and will continue to do so. Whereas the bill for Rishi's measures is ours and ours alone.

Shared approach = about 10 countries hand over larger amounts of money than they get back (we're No 2 by net contribution) and the other 17 share it. At present due to covid the 4th biggest contributor (Italy) is looking like needing a bailout which is another word for sharing other countries money. The sums just don't work and the whole thing is fucked. It was on a knife edge anyway and covid is about to push it over.

They will sort something out - your desperate thrashing about in the shallows overlooks the most important point of my post - Rishi's plans are all our bill - we can't get help from anywhere. And don't go down the cheap borrowing route because going forward that situation is fucked.

You just don't get it do you? We hand over nearly 10 billion more than we get back. A fucking fruit machine in a pub gives you a better return - and this is before covid fucked it all. I'm all for being in Europe, but the EU is like an expensive gym membership that we can't afford anymore.

and you don't get it do you? With the welfare state its a group effort so when you hit trouble there is help there for you - may not be great but there is a safety net. What is happening now and what will come as a result of Brexit is on us - we own - no fucker in the world is going to say "hey we know you have hit hard times but we can let you have £93 a week until you sort it out" - the money will run out then we will have nothing and no-one to turn to.

We are net losers from our membership. The bill is about to get bigger, and the amount we get back even smaller as the project fails. The EU is an expensive vanity project that will only be missed by the likes of Poland that benefit to the tune of 11 billion a year, and those in high places in Brussels doing very nicely thank you. The other 'benefits' we receive are from current free trade - barriers to which without EU membership are a construct of the EU in order to coerce membership from nations that are paying for the project. It's a racket which before covid was a nuisance, but is now an anachronism.

What utter narrow-minded bollocks

"Whereas the bill for Rishi's measures is ours and ours alone...." you say

Really - are you suggesting that if we stay in the EU some of the 27 nations are going to share the UK's burden?

What bollocks is that?

Talk about blind faith - actually not - just blind ignorance

They just don't get it. 28 people share a house but only 10 of them have jobs so they pay the rent and the bills. It's that simple.

You don't even understand the basics of this subject - you just cannot stop yourself posting

You are just making yourself look a bit (lot) silly

Ha ha ha ha ha ha The boys are back in town - as I say lets give it 12 months and lets see who is in the better position - is the IMF still doing loans for impoverished countries?

We'll probably be fucked, but less fucked than if we were fucked and also continuing to prop up 17 other countries in the EU plus the other former net contributors that now want to also 'share'.

Yes, but 17 of them were already after you lending them even more and the others are now skint too. Do you actually know how much each EU member contributes?
