So the transport minister says when the lockdown ends transport can only run with 1/10th of it's normal capacity. Yet we are in lockdown and these rules aren't being applied now on transport. It is unworkable. As for everyone cycling everywhere has he seen the weather nine months of the year here? Where do we park all the extra bikes safely?

I know they have to be seen to be doing something but really the country is fucked if this is the future. We can all dig in for a few months, a year at tops, but ten years, forever? No socialising, no meeting, no dating, no sex, no sports events, no cinema, no holidays,no nothing except work, if you have any, shop, a walk around the block, stay in and watch shit tv. I'm not being funny but it's a living death.

The tabloids have handled this crisis as bad as they do football. Lies, sensationalism, half truths, stupid questions and comments. They are utter scum with only a few minor exceptions.
Totally agree, the reports of "lockdown" ending this weekend earlier this week were shameful/irresponsible, and based on nothing at all, but have encouraged more people to break the rules already.

I'm 25 miles from my place of work, so I'll be driving, once work from home isn't an option, and due to my shift times public transport isn't an option.

I sometimes wonder if they sit down and think before they stand there and do their speeches. Take the metro. Who stands at the many stops monitoring passengers? How do you socially distance all the others who can't get on and have to wait for the next one? How long do they wait? An hour, two hours, longer? This process would have to be at every single stop. That's before we come to buses. It's not feasible.

I agree, but my take on it is that whoever was speaking regardless of politics would be doing the same speeches.

The whole thing is impossible for any government to deal with, but they want to give some optimism, yet we're still averaging 5000 new cases, and 500 deaths a day, if I was in charge I'd actually tighten some things up, and I'd seriously tell the media to stfu, as they are being totally irresponsible with their message, but that is no great surprise.

It wasn't a political attack and I agree they are between a rock and a hard place but you can't say you are going to introduce something that is unworkable. Social distancing doesn't work. It doesn't work in supermarkets once you are indoors when it goes out of the window. That is in a much more easily controlled environment than public transport. What they have to do is have the most effective masks possible, mandatory to wear and the usual try and avoid touching surfaces and stay home if you have symptoms mantra. Its the only way to get things moving.

The media situation I totally agree with. In extreme times they need to stop spouting shit, while of course still challenging failings.

No but someone somewhere said that really strong light kills the virus and sunbathing might just work. That or snorting toilet duck.
E=h.f. Where f is the frequency. What matters really is the frequency (inverse of wavelength) of the light. The Sun produces light wit a range of energies, the peak of which is is the visible spectrum. The high frequency and therefore high energy light is largely absorbed Oxygen molecules which are split into atoms and hence not much far UVC reaches sunbathers at ground level. I think a very small amount does though and hence intensity (light flux) is a factor. This possibly explains in part why many viruses are seasonal in nature.

I’m not sure I like what I’m seeing at the minute, when I look out of the window. It’s not the same picture I got 6 weeks ago.

This new slogan. It sends a new message.

It’s open season.

There appears to be a decent sector of the nation who don’t understand or believe they are above the current situation.

No discipline in some people’s decisions and no discipline in the way we are being led. It’s too loose.

I’m no medical scientist, but it looks to me like the message tomorrow will be grossly misunderstood and I think this message (looks to be) being delivered in the wrong way.

As we have already witnessed in the last few days people are no longer staying home or social distancing this will only add fuel to the fire i fear we could end up back to square one very soon. This new message and the opening of garden centres i shit you not is the best they could come up with then we are all doomed!.

Fucking hell, one of my pet peeves is all of these dickheads still touching everything in the supermarkets. Some woman the other day virtually touched every potato and then didn't even buy any.

I saw a bloke do the same, picking stuff up and throwing it back. He did it so often it looked deliberate to me, he was acting a bit odd.
