Could be an important development in discovering the science behind the lockdown. So far, SAGE have published a fraction of the scientific papers that were discussed behind closed doors, never mind sharing the minutes of the meetings. Might help some people in this country understand the virus better and understand the rationale behind the measures taken.
I'd like this to happen but all names/organisations would have to be redacted due to the nutters out there.

60,000 people have died. The last thing you should be worried about is being overly negative. The ones who make me suspicious are the ones who don't seem to give a fuck.
All excess deaths is only around 47k at the moment in the UK It may well reach higher levels but it certainly isn't 60k at the moment.
Its announced covid deaths (34k) +
Non covid excess deaths reported by ONS to May 1 (11k) +
Non covid excess deaths from May 1 (2k max).

Understanding their rationale is all we need. Just want to know the ‘why?’... the scientific why, that is!

If I wasn't doing my usual social distancing, I'd have chinned someone today, such is my utter disgust for this witch hunt on teachers.

As for that splash in today's Daily Mail, they should be fucking ashamed, but they are too busy self-congratulating themselves on a daily basis for getting PPE donations.

My wife has been going in and teaching every week to at-risk kids, special needs and those of key workers.

For anyone to suggest it is time for teachers to start pulling their weight, I've never been so fucking angry.

My wife has put herself at risk, knowing full well what risks that might also have on our own family.

She has struggled to cope with less than 15 pupils this week and teachers absolutely must be backed in their stance of wider risks for a greater populous back in schools.

She has performed amazingly, as have our own kids teachers, sending work every day on line, setting up class room chats, checking on mental well-being.

My kids are working as hard as ever and that is down to their teachers.

I back our teachers to the hilt - fuck those who dress it up as an economy saver getting them and kids back.

This is emotional blackmail.

Thankfully, parents will be on the same page as the teachers and the government will be in for a nasty shock soon.

My kids won't be going anywhere until September at the earliest.
Word perfect.

Word perfect.

How you doing, bud?

The head of my wife's school sent the staff a questionnaire last night mate, you might be also interested to hear...

He asked for the staff to list their concerns.

In addition, he had conducted a survey with parents of year groups 1-6, just so he can plan for numbers.

61 per cent of parents do not plan to send their kids back at the start of June.

We could be waiting a while then mate, eh!

What are your thoughts on holding the intake back a year, it seems obvious to me but my missus says it will just impact right down the ladder?

Perhaps this dozy fucking government can think outside the box a little, maybe even make kids wait until 19 for university, just until we get some clear breathing space, pardon the pun!!
Statistically, holding back a child by a year (as used to be practised in several countries, most notably France) is one of the least effective ways of ensuring they make age appropriate attainment for when they leave school at 16. It's why early interventions such as Reading Recovery, Numbers Count etc are used, rather than simply getting children to do the year again. But we're talking whole cohorts here, so it may be something that's worth considering. Hope you, the wife and kids are all good pal.

Hello bud, we're just putting together staff questionnaire. We haven't asked parents - yet. I've been getting together some key stats that we will present to parents. We have 67% Black African pupils so you can see how this may be received by parents. There is zero chance I'm sending my own kids back, so, morally, I can't support allowing pupils from my own school back. It's so wrong.

Shocking isn`t it.
Our daughter is also a Verifier going out to other schools and assessing new teachers work and best practices. She loves it but she`s also grateful that she works within a Specialised Drama College (14 -18 years old) which offers everything connected with the stage and tv and has had young actors who are now appearing on TV,with one of her biggest thrills seeing one of her ex students take a leading part in Peaky Blinders within weeks of leaving school.
Sorry Mods I went a bit of topic there.
That's why we do the job. Seeing pupils go on to achieve great things. She must be chuffed. And rightly so. As must you.

I think we need to see the level of the virus by June before deciding if they should go back or not. If it's quite a bit lower than now, then I can't really see the problem in them going back, just as they are starting to do in many other countries. If the infection rate is still quite high, then delay their return for a few weeks.

Mad how these teachers don't want to go back to work but are happy for the shelf stackers in Tesco working.

It's alright for public sector workers wanting to stay in lockdown, they still get paid, unlike the private sector.
Just out of interest, how many of the 498, 000 teachers in England did you speak to?

We're safe and well mate and hope that's the case your end also!

Best wishes

I'll be interested to see what the "excess deaths" figure is at the end of 2020.

In 2018, the average number of monthly deaths was 44,655. In January 2018 the "excess deaths" were 15, 377, in February 4,213 and, in March 8,266. That's 27,856 "excess deaths" in 3 months.

It will be good to see the figures to get a sense of proportion at the end of all this.
