I think they feel they need to be negative to keep people social distancing, but most people are intelligent enough to carry on being cautious, the idiots that are flocking down to beaches etc will do that no matter what. My neighbour has had family round regularly since beginning of lockdown, and drinks in the garden with friends etc every time the sun comes out. She does not give a shit and no amount of negative news reporting is gonna make her take this seriously.

Meanwhile, no new cases or deaths in China yesterday for the first time. This inevitable second peak is sure taking it's time.
 
Today's announced hospital deaths is not 164 as earlier stated but 118 - the additional number are deaths that weren't included on May 16th. The number of people in hospital continues to decline and it is now just below 9000. The numbers clearly show that the virus is declining rapidly in the general population so hopefully a greater effort in regard to care homes will bring it down further to negligible levels.
