Questions

Review fines on people who travelled for childcare ? we will look at it

Visiting other households if we can go shopping /school with strangers, if they have isolated? We are looking at it,highest transmission is still in households

Media

40 tories want Cummings gone, you said the lockdown was not guidelines but instruction? Blah blah, party line (Another saying what he did was reasonable and fine whilst saying we have to keep our resolve, prick)

You and your wife had covid, you have three kids? We had childcare ,he did not

Support for the gov has gone down ,how do you expect people to follow you? Making changes to the rules and trying to allow people to get back to seeing loved ones, people can disagree with Cummings but I am here to move things forward

71% of public think Cummings was wrong, did they interpret yours rules wrongly? There were exceptional circumstances allowed, what he did was in the guidelines and reasonable

Test and trace ,how important people stick to the letter of it or can they use their instincts? Very important people do it for themselves, family and community,we expect people to stick to instructions

Why public if those who write the rules don't do it? is your civic duty to isolate if you have been in contact with someone with covid (erm unless....)

Tools for future flare ups ? will have local lockdown if there is a flare up,test and trace will identify local problems

PPE not fit tested for some staff? We withdrew those problem ones as soon as we could

I'm beginning to think that some people on this thread have an agenda. If something doesn't fit their agenda it is either ignored or shot down.

A couple of days ago, i posted a link to evidence that the biggest threat to a vaccine was due to the fact that the virus is already dying out naturally and this will stop a vaccine being tested.
The article stated that they actually hoped it would stay around a little longer in the UK until they could complete their tests. (because of its predicted path, there could be no people with the virus by late August/September)

How sound the article was, and how creditable the evidence was who knows, but not a single person quoted or challenged it on here.
I suspect if i quoted an article saying we were due a massive second wave and half a million people would be dead by September, i've no doubt certain members would have jumped on it with glee...

I don't think I spotted your post. To be fair, positive news is generally warmly accepted on this thread. I am sure all us like to see some (possibly) positive news.

Stick it in the positive updates thread mate. It's less likely to get lost in there.

I believe it's less to do with people only being interested in the negative stuff but more a genuine sense of panic which is now existant through the population, to different levels of extent. I include myself in that. So in that regar, if there's a bad news story or something really negative, it's probably seen as a priority in terms of deserving attention, because people's nerves are already shattered and it's easy to get caught up in it all.

Every remotely positive story either gets ignored or put through Google translate that much it says what they want. Been like that from day 1. People have gone on about it destroying our lives that much they can't deal with any possibility they're wrong.

The virus is not dying out, there are less people around to test for a variety of reasons,we have suppressed the virus with the measures we ,or some of us,have stuck to,there will be a second wave but we are ready so it shouldn't be a really bad one

Repost it on here and the Positive thread. Not quite sure where I am with 'the penny is dropping' but I welcome positive news with open arms. Maybe later on in the year or next year we'll be able to analyse it all.

I have tried all along to be realistic and keep peoples feet on the ground, some of those posting positive things with links are mostly not reading it or not understanding what they have posted,i don't mean that to be patronising, everyone has been panicked and worried but the news has not been good for three months so that is what is posted,
finally some good news on remdesiver (sp) good small trial at the royal free has led to a much bigger trial starting now, that is something we can all celebrate with caution, the size of the next wave is guesswork at the monent, the yanks led by trump have said fuck lockdown so they are the ones to watch and see if they get another wave and how bad

Sorry Karen, genuinely wasn't trying to provoke a reaction or have a dig in any way. That's not what I was meaning by my post. Just feel that people are quick to dismiss or shoot down 'good news' reports because they don't want to get their hopes up. Feel like that's been the case with quite a few reports recently, it's fair enough and I understand the skepticism.
