Positive news about Corona Virus Updates

New infections in South Korea down from yesterday's high of 79 to 58. It's just a day to day fluctuation so wouldn't look too much into it, but it's down rather than up which is important given the news on Korea yesterday. Hopefully that trend can stabalise or decline over the next week or so and put fears of an imminent second wave at bay.
I think this thread is proving that we should ignore the media stories and focus on the figures.

The press will shout it from the roof tops if there is a sudden surge somewhere, but then the silence is deafening a couple of days later when it has stabilised/dropped again. Hopefully South Korea is just the latest example of this, the next few days we will see.

Nail on head. Let's wait and see over the next couple of weeks. They couldn't wait to put big bold letters on the front pages about Germany's R rate rising a few weeks ago, then fuck all when it was back down to below 1 and stabalised.

Nothing today on Korea figures showing a near 25% reduction on yesterday's figures, nothing on the news in Norway that their infection rates have actually lowered since kids went back to school, nothing on Austria opening up their hotel scene from today.

I'm all for reporting on the bad news such as what we'd heard from Korea yesterday. It's important that people should know, but for the love of God follow it up and let us know how things are progressing, positive or otherwise.

This entire forum has proved we should ignore the media over everything!

Be interesting to see how long it takes us to get week day(s) below 100

Yep. Slower I'd imagine. But no major upticks in infection rate all over Europe at the current time is cause for optimism. Scotland and the UK as a whole both on the right track as far as that's concerned too. A lot of people (rightly) stressed about what *might* happen but in the here and now the situation is improving.

The second wave is coming to a street near us all very, very soon. The science is clear. The rush to return to normal is moronic. We may have lowered the curve, but we haven't yet got the infrastructure to handle it enough to make these lockdown restrictions viable.

The death rate here should be all the evidence we need, that the useless cunts in charge in Westminster don't have a fucking clue. A total shitebag toffy nosed, lying bastard buffoon, totally out of his depth.

It's a coming people. It's a coming.

This isn't very positive.

Thank God we don`t have a negative thread.

This is the positive news thread for starters and it's not the politics sub forum either.
