Let’s hope twitter makes them all famous.Beyond sick
It does make you think though when you hear that 25 Lord Mayors of Liverpool made money from the slave trade from 1700 to 1820. I live in North Lancashire which was another big slave trade area (mostly Lancaster) and there are still many large country homes which were owned by wealthy slave traders. And some of their ancestors are still benefiting from that inherited property and land wealth today. No person with a ounce of human compassion can say what happened to Mr Floyd right. The whole reparation movement is a curious thing. At what point do we start understanding that what happened hundreds of years ago is nothing to do with people of today. Do we in this country start asking for reparations from the Italian government for the occupation of Britain by the Roman empire or the Scandinavian countries for the slaves taken by the vikings. Finally, there were circa 5 to 6 million more Africans taken into slavery in the middle east and central Asia than taken to the Americas so it would be only fair countries in that region pay their share of any reparation bill. Slavery is a dark stain on humanity and is unfortunately on the rise again in failed states like Libya and also in the uk but our media turn a blind eye as generally the perpetrators are from communities that cannot criticised for reasons of cultural sensitivities.
Yeah but it really hurts and lasts for weeks.Sometimes I feel like a want to break a few knuckles on some faces, like I used to.
This is one of those times...
That was my first though. Then it was how long until he pardons them.Has Trump offered to pay yet ?
He’s had an escort as they need to be there to keep the peace. As for getting personal I guess you don’t do irony then. you also were talking about him being a criminal previously, something which no matter what he’s done previously or even was doing at the time of arrest warranted being murdered in cold blood on the streets by those who are there to protect and serve not act as judge, jury and fucking executioner. That is clearly not what I was saying,go back to my first post,i didn't say the officers who killed him knew anything about him,I am uncomfortable with police giving him an escort,it feels hypocritical by the police and an opportunity to look good
As it happens what Dom said was wrong as proved by my link,he did what you are doing and making it personal rather than trying to understand what I was saying in my first post
What is it with you two and the spurs **** that has to go personal all the time,it is fucking annoying
Learn that a long time ago, works a treat.Yeah but it really hurts and lasts for weeks.
Ball of the palm into their nose does a great deal less damage to oneself.
I can't speak for other individuals. It would be truly absurd behaviour, if I was to walk over to my neighbours' front door to demand some kind of apology for or acknowledgement of slavery from them. The topic of reparations is often looked at as a truly controversial topic, but it shouldn't be. Britain should do the right thing.
If someone turned up at my door asking for an apology for slavery then I'd tell them where to go. It's a horrible thing but it happened and it had nothing to do with anyone alive today.
It would be like saying that all Germans should apologise to Jewish people for the Holocaust.
I get what you're saying but, to my knowledge, German police officers aren't continually murdering Jewish people on the streets and then having their superiors and unions covering for them.
The current context of both historical events is entirely different.
