I believe the club and the chairman on this.

I also believe that CAS are impartial.

However, I still think we will get fucked over here and action will also follow from the Premier League.

Options of further action through Swiss Courts are limited so there will be no shit storm or bringing down of clubs and organisations.

We will have to start again.

I will still support the club after this has happened.

Big Dave in being pessimistic shocker! ;)

What’s the latest?

Sorry - been at work and will struggle to get through all the pages since 8am this morning!
Thanks in advance.

Fuck all mate - apart from some CAS suit helpfully letting us know the Video conferencing software they're on was working first thing.

This isn't one we're going to be getting a running commentary on, so I wouldn't expect much by way of updates over the next few days.

What is this 'we'll have to start again' bollocks that's suddenly cropped up in posts?

Could you explain start again to me as I'm puzzled.
It means we will carry on with one arm behind our backs because by the time we get back into CL our squad, coefficient and footballing ability will have been seriously damaged. Our rivals will have a massive jump on us plus potentially we may have had titles and trophies removed. In a nutshell will be playing massive catchup.

One other thing - UEFA can't whip out any new evidence. City will have seen all evidence against them and have the chance to respond fully. The leaks to the NYT were an abuse of process, as was not thoroughly corroborating the claims in Der Spiegel. The UEFA legal team won't say much other than that they stand by the details in their substantive decision document (which City will have seen but the public has not).

I answered before as well. I think it's quite possible we will be neither banned nor completely exonerated, they'll find no proof that we broke the rules but we weren't as cooperative as we could have been.
I've a feeling they may find we were un cooperative but that UEFA gave us reason to be with their leaks, so a bit of fault on both sides to give both somethging to hang on to, but on the actual charges that brought the investigation am expecting us to be cleared.

You make a very good point. As fans, we have to trust the club when they say they’re innocent but if it ever turned out that they were lying on that then they will have abused our trust. It’s one thing lying to the likes of UEFA. That’s bad but on the flip side UEFA changed the goalposts right near the end of the first monitoring period which screwed any chance we may have had of passing FFP so they would be just as bad in my eyes. However, lying to your own fans on this is another level altogether. Many of us have been fighting on behalf of the club in terms of getting information out there that so many dickhead journalists choose to ignore because our club have said they’ve done nothing wrong. If our loyalty turns out to be misplaced then never mind high stakes with regards to losing players and losing credibility. That is temporary and can be fixed over time. Losing the fans on the other hand.....
I agree with this. My confidence in City winning is based mostly on the public statements made by the club. Soriano said clearly that the allegations were false, out of context, and that we had irrefutable proof of our innocence. Khaldoon has personally stressed this to Pep, all the players, and backroom staff.
I can't believe they would have done this unless they had proof. Being banned from Europe is one thing but losing the trust of all your customers and employees is catastrophic. This is a trust issue for everyone connected to City. Whatever happens I think it is vital that we get our evidence into the public domain at some stage. We are all entitled to see the full picture. Cutting a deal will not be enough.

The "worrisome" leaks importantly acknowledged by CAS vindicates our decision not to engage with UEFA's process.

Also, the appearance of Ceferin at our matches before Christmas was no coincidence. There are rumours we rejected a plea deal. This isn't something we'd have rejected on first hearing it. We'd have spoken to our legal team and made the decision by committee. I do not sense City are not sure of their case. They seem convinced.

Yes. While both sides have indicated that they’re confident, City have clearly been more bullish than UEFA throughout.

I wonder if we will ever know the whole truth, probably not.
I suspect UEFA gave us a 2 year ban thinking we would accept a reduced 1 year ban and a fine instead of going to CAS.
City must think they have a strong case to risk going to CAS and the ban being uphled, at least i hope so.
Delaney would lose his shit if we get this overturned so that's another small hope that this happens :)

No, he asked about the 63, you only answered for 1, chop chop

I woke up this morning aware that City were to face another day in the lunatic world of football. While a team from Salford borrowed another £140 million to increase it's debt by 42% to a cool half a billion so that the Glazers can still take their divi, while Chelsea pile on the debt because their owner can't prove he came by his wealth honestly, while Spurs borrow wildly to increase their already massive debt to pay for a stadium they can't afford and can't even use and Liverpool rake in the sponsorship from their ever so honourable money launderers City have to go to court to prove that seven (or more?) years ago the club only stayed out of debt and paid its way because the owner pretended to be someone else and paid money into the club. He says he didn't and has irrefutable proof but the crime is so serious we have to ignore his evidence. The rules say so. And he shouldn't even be allowed to appeal. Eight clubs of the PL say so. It's only fair play. Otherwise how are all he clubs named above going to compete with City. It's only financial prudence you know. Football has to be protected from reckless spending by owners. Come on UEFA!
Brilliant.

I think that opening a case is precisely what the PL will do, should we lose
Someone posted yesterday that the premier league did not have FFP on the dates that UEFA have charged us on. So I am unsure where or which period the premier league can investigate. Maybe someone else can throw some light on the dates.

Massive clubs will always be playing massive catchup.

Brilliant.

Yep, a fantastic post. Maybe City should take a leaf out of the book of all these other clubs and borrow a chunk of money, paying it back on the drip. I’m sure our credit rating is miles better which means we should be able to borrow a shit load more than all the other clubs put together. We’d blow the fucking lot of them out of the water for the best players.

The FA are enquiring into our first FA Cup win on the entirely reasonable grounds that we beat the scousers to it by about 60 years. It is alleged that City were too good and we must have broken the then maximum wage provisions........oh.
