I just want to know how little understanding of the general public he must have, that he thinks bragging about how many tv’s he’s got in his shiny new plane is a vote winner during the greatest recession and worst healthcare crisis in over 100 years.

I’d imagine subpoenas will be heading out on Monday. The House can take this apart for the next six months.

Barr/Trump will have known this would happen and how it damages them which means that whatever was about to be uncovered, must be fucking horrendous.

I'm guessing all of the above *and more*. You can probably add China and Saudi Arabia (and possibly Venezuela) to that list, plus the likelihood that there is evidence that Trump lied in his written submissions to the Special Council investigation into Russian Interference in the 2016 election. I wouldn't be at all surprised if there was a pending charge of obstruction of justice against Trump/Barr/Rudy and others. Ironic, considering the firing of Berman appears to be exactly that.

It was definitely a calculated risk by Trump/Barr. They can certainly try and drag this out until after the election, and hope that their 'efforts' in other areas go some way to swinging the election in Trump's favour (voter suppression/fraud/outside interference). It clearly appears that they think they can get away with this.
