2 people shot, one person killed, in a street party attended by about 1000 people.

Not quite sure how the police weren't able to gather the intelligence that something like this was going ahead or chose not to act but with what went on at Daisy Nook, Carrington, and then this weekend, we must have the highest proportion of selfish, scummy cunts of any city in the UK. Anyone know whether the party at Boggart Hole Clough took place?

How do the police act ? If a thousand people decide to attend one place there is little the police can do to stop them. If they kettle them they get sued, if they simply block a road people find another way around. If they identify the organiser, (the guy stood at the turntable deck) exactly what could they arrest him for, possibly behaviour likely to cause a breach of the peace ? good look with that one. It is not as simple as 'the police could stop it'.

Agree. And weighing it all up against potential disorder by breaking it up too

Yep, guessing a lot of black people at the party in view of the location, so majority white GMP riot squad turning up probably not a good look at present. It could've escalated to 1981 proportions.

The second person has now died. As someone else (sorry forgot who) in the Reading stabbing thread, it is strange how little posts are in this one. Mind you the media coverage will be the same. Reading is near enough London and now confirmed the offender is an islamist. whereas Moss Side equals black on black gangster media stereotyping nothing to see here so lets ignore type incident.

I think some of it is because (if it is black on black gangster stuff) it's easier to rationalise and get our heads round than what seems a more random terrorist killing.

Except we don't know what it is yet, my point is the media will have it down as that and therefore zero interest from them (and posters on here)
