All things considered €49m + €11m isn't a bad deal. Getting it done sooner will help with any potential signings we make as well. He had his head turned and it didn't work out, but I thank him for all the important goals and assists and will certainly miss him in City blue.

If it’s £40m odd base fee that’s ok as long as there’s £15m or so add ons on top. German’s will report the base fee, UK press will be briefed on the full fee. If it’s literally just £40m full stop we’ve been rinsed. Would have just kept him for the year and ran his contract down to stick our fingers up to those twats.

Allowing us to lose £40m in depreciation in a year (£45m ish including wages) is akin to spending £200m on a player with a 5 year contract.
