We're not easy pickings; there is not a lot you can do if a player won't sign a new contract. City look to have done a decent deal in the circumstances. Much as it would have been fun to make the Bavarian bastards wait a year, it would not have been good business.

What's far important is getting a result at CAS and then investing well. We need to do the latter regardless but it will be easier if we are still in UCL.

The lad has had a serious knee injury and maybe City have taken the view that he's not looking like the same player he was before that happened. With only a year left on his contract we may have done a decent deal here. Especially with the expected drop in the market this summer.
