Great sayings..

Not exactly a saying but my father loved telling me it.

‘Brothers and sisters, I have none. But that man's father is my father's son.’

Many a season ago now. It's so long back (could only be five mins, though, with my remaining brain cells) that the major details escape me. It might have been to do with seats on a train, an altercation, but somebody will be quickly in here to give us all the gory details.

2011.
It’s in the Classic Threads forum: FAO etc.

Out of sheer curiosity what's the fucking answer?

I can't work it out.

A man is looking at a photograph of someone:-
If I have no brothers and sisters then my father's son can only be me. Which means I am that man's father.

"Nothing says I have faith in God like the bullet proof glass on the Pope's car "
I’m not going through 17 pages, but is suspect you have been listening to the late great Bill Hicks and the quote is
“I love the Pope, I love seeing him in his Pope-Mobile, his three feet of bullet proof plexi-glass. That's faith in action folks! You know he's got God on his side
if you’re going to quote someone at least get the quote right

When I was a kid, if I asked my nana where any female was - usually my mum - she would say she has ran away with a black man.

Never understood where that came from
My Nan used to say the same or her other answer would be “in a bottle on the roof” which was even more inexplicable than running off with a black man

My Dad used to say 'Sky Blue Pink with a Yellow Border' when referring to any questions to do with colour. Not a clue to this day!

Yer Mams run away with a black man or Visa versa a black woman was a favourite of both Mam and Dad when I used to ask where they were

If I ever asked me Dad anything he’d always say “ I don’t know ask yer mother” anything to do with time or distance “how longs a piece of string”

whereas me mum would say “it’s not up to me you’d better ask yer father”
Ahaa, that game..
