Agree but Feltz has to be the rudest person I have ever heard. She interrupts people all the time likes the sound of her own voice.

Ball also i cant stand plus being a southern rag doesnt help.

Wright is terrible and the f**king 'no g thing' he does.

Ken Bruce I listen to and always stop work for pop master.

Mostly play music of the phone nowadays when my young workmates shows me how !
 
I still like Wright, but never been a fan of the other two since back in the day of their ladette culture on R1.

Wright. Please stop, now. Like the daft uncle at a family party, everybody thinks he's a berk. Same act he was doing 30 odd years ago. Then there's that dullard who witters on about homeopathy. Fuck off.

Cox. The scatty Northern bird act is wearing thin.

Whiley. GOBSHITE, who "handpicks her playlist" and "curates her shows". Plus, anyone who starts sentences with the word "Hey", and is in their 50's, needs to be shot.

Nelson. I don't like his taste in music, so I don't listen

An excellent summing up and assessment of the situation. Ken Bruce an absolute legend. The rest of the weekday line up pretty much as you stated. Ive always said they should not be playing stuff you can hear on radio one, I just do not see the point. Most radio 2 listeners are of a certain age and do not want to hear music from 'new' artists that can be heard on radio one, so why do they do it ? No problem with new stuff from artists of our generations.

With regards to the presenters only Ken is worth a listen in terms of entertainment. Ball, Cox and wright utterly dire and Jo Whiley in the evenings trying to be trendy and playing the most obscure rubbish from 'alternative' type artists. Unlistenable ! Things improve slightly at the weekends, when we get some Tony Blackburn and Jonny Walker plus Gambo with pick of the pops, although Dermot O Dreary is another one I just cannot listen to, unfunny and crap music along the lines of Whiley.

I would like to see the listening figures compared to a few years ago, I bet they have dropped dramatically.

But apart from that you love Radio 2!
 
BBC Radio is tying itself in knots trying to appeal to certain demographics. I think it came as a shock to them, when they were looking to shut down 6 Music that they had such a wide age demographic, when they thought they were appealing to a much younger age group.

There's no point in listening to Radio 1 if you're over 25.
Radio 2 used to be the prime, musically unchallenging, informative but entertaining radio channel with some listenable music thrown in but now it seems to be more about "personalities" rather than trying to have a defined culture. Wogan, Bruce, Mayo and a few others represented what R2 should be.
Radio 3 & 4 are what they are.
Radio 5 Live is now trying to be down with the 'yoof' and all about "banter' and doing one subject (Brexit then Covid-19) to death. Plus there's the appalling, lowest-common-denominator phone-ins. Used to love listening to Simon Mayo on a Friday afternoon when I was driving back from wherever I was working and to the Breakfast show but the former has gone and the latter is now unlistenable.
6 Music is generally good but I mainly listen in the evening, to Mark Riley & Gideon Coe, and at weekend. Can't stand Shaun Keaveny, who seems to mutter away to himself rather than talking to his listeners, and I've never taken to Steve Lamacq for some reason.

Only KB is worth listening to. The rest are dreadful. When I think back to the days of Wogan and Ray Moore the station has just gone down the pan. Yer right about R1 - the number of times a fuckin' week I turn to Mrs Ewing and say this is R1 shite, and I am not gonna start on Vine. Jeeeez, I'd be here till Leyton Orient won the CL.
