The scousers are a hit or miss team when they get their noses in front in games they can murder sides on the flip side they fall behind ( yes they have turned games around although a majority of them with help from officials and VAR) they struggle to get to grips and start to run out of ideas ..

Very odd.

It's not that odd, it was reviewing a penalty, but the graphic says no foul instead of no penalty.

VAR can't review whether it was a foul if it's outside the box.

I thought at times tonight he looked like he was playing right on the edge of his ability. Concentrating and working incredibly hard to keep up with the game when they were attacking us, almost getting caught out, and straining to make a few tackles or passes under pressure.

He did it though, he got through a game against a very, very good team and this is how kids like him reach those higher levels.

If he plays in the CL in August, or the FA Cup final he will be a better player now because of today's game.

Agree with most of what you are saying. not sure he’s showing Laporte levels of potential when he’s playing and that’s what we need but he didn’t do much wrong and plays well beyond his years, we can’t ask for much more from somebody of his age in his position.

The thing is, we don’t necessarily need him to be the first choice cb, especially not at 19. We need 4 centre backs in the squad, they’ll be rotation but there will naturally be a pecking order And even if he’s not at the top of it he can still be a success here and play a big role. His club trained status will make him invaluable

I think it’s a standard response on the screen for a penalty decision, some don’t half read too much into things, it was a free kick outside the box, the right decision was made, move on folks.
