Southampton (A) Post-Match Thread

nobody can jump on the players or manager back ? its over the season so pep is just giving squad players game time and that is the key to games like tonight. city could still be playing tomorrow and we would not have scored its just not our day and thank god its not a cup game and something on it

hate to lose but we are not them scum fans over the road or arsenal fans on the internet moaning after each game they lose ? sack the manager ? sell the players ? the owners are taking the piss and don't care, city fans just take it move on and brighter things are on the horizon and maybe lady luck will be with us

Result doesn’t matter one bit but that Sums up our season really well. A defensive fuck up costing us dearly then having total control but poor finishing costs us points.

We only have the one way of playing and when it’s shut down we don’t have an alternative. the fact we’ve lost 9 games this season now says we’re too easy to play against.

A finisher and pace on the wings are just as important as a centre back this summer otherwise we can expect more of these kind of games next season.

Fair play to Southampton too.[/QUOTE

Inverted wingers played into their hands, Sterling needs to switch back to the right hand side and Mahrez/ Bernado/ Foden start playing on the left. We didn't play badly but we're not fast or clinical enough. The more game went on the greater Southampton grew in confidence. Thought McCarthy was there MOTM

Yeah, I bet you did. It'll be interesting to see what kind of effort you put in next time out.

They’ll be fucked for the season after that, they defended well tbf but it reminded me of the games we used to play against Sunderland, they’d get a shitty goal and then bodies would be thrown left, right and centre.
