Southampton (A) Post-Match Thread

What does everyone think Zinchenko should have done with the hospital pass Laporte gave him?
Zinchenko had no "out" ball

Maybe not try and dribble past someone as the last man and instead do what any other play on the pitch would do and either pass it back to Laporte or the keeper.

Another game & another unenforced defensive error punished cruelly by a worldy goal !

Why does it rarely happen at the other end ?

As someone who played in defence I would say if the forwards put some of the chances away that you take the pressure of the defence !. ;)
How do you explain last season then, that 14 game winning streak where we won half the games 1-0, if the defence is gonna make stupid mistakes after 20 mins we have no chance in the cups.

Simple really, we have one line of defence, and are looking to push forward a mistake and it's breached, teams like Southampton line up at least doubled up on defence, with defence first and foremost in mind one mistake is usually covered for, and they are at maximun concentration.

Imagine playing a variant of darts whereby the object is to throw the most bullseyes from 25 darts. City hit twenty-three 25s and bounce off the wire between 25 and the bullseye twice. Our opponent drops the dart at his feet 23 times, hits a random double and then pops it into the bullseye. That's been us too many times this season, but fuck knows what the answer is.
Torch the dartboard and buy a set of tiddlywinks?
