This Guardian article from February seems to support the idea that the Etihad sponsorship came from the government and not ADUG.
https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...ip-covered-by-abu-dhabi-government-not-etihad

It relates to accusations by US airlines that Etihad has received state subsidies from the Abu Dhabi's ruling Executive council. Both Sheik Mansour and Khaldoon are members of the council but it is not the same as SM giving the money to Etihad directly.
If a company receives a subsidy from a government, some of that will be spent on marketing so that seems legit to me.
On the other hand if Abu Dhabi have said that they gave Etihad the money that was used for the sponsorship, will that cause Etihad issues with other airlines?

Yeh I’ve felt this way since the two year ban was handed down. No way the CAS go against UEFA and clear us altogether.
I was under the assumption this was 'all or nothing', CAS will decide if City are guilty or innocent, not if the punishment is too harsh. If we are innocent there will zero punishment if we are guilty it will be a 2 year ban.

@Prestwich_Blue may know more...

They may recommend a lesser punishment ,where UEFA would give us one year.

I dont think cas can say 1 year ban, I think in another case they sent it back to uefa saying they felt that that the club was guilty but that the punishment was too harsh and uefa should reduce it. I thought they would do this originally but the nearer the decision comes the more I feel we'll win, just a gut feeling.

I have no idea but my gut feeling is this will be a fudge. 1 year means there won't be a mass exodus'of players but it also means UEFA don't lose face.
I know this has nothing to do with law but money talks and the old elite won't be happy if UEFA collapses.
I really hope your gut feeling is wrong.im not happy about how they obtained the evidence in the first place. This is going to be a massive result for mcfc and hopefully in our favour. I personally can’t wait to brag to all those city haters if it goes our way. This will be a big result for football in general and will also give clubs like Everton and Newcastle hope for their futures. Can’t stand the monopoly of those elite clubs they are trying to protect.those clubs are all bent and they’re very scared of liccle tiny city smashing them to pieces. Blues everywhere fingers crossed.

I can't see how you think a result for us affects Everton or Newcastle in the slightest.

What gives the club the right to be disappointed with Cheesy?
They have severed all official connection with him, they have pettily refused his request for press credentials at the Etihad, they have treated him shabbily.
Unless there is more than cost behind the decision to bin him off (which we don't know about), this is not the right way to deal with a loyal supporter.
I know he is a big blue but he is clearly doing something wrong going back years when it comes from his work

I hope so. My gut feeling is based on those games where both teams need a point. One to qualify for Europe the other to avoid relegation. Result a draw without drama.

The embargo would be on the lawyers and parties not to release to anyone. It is not a media embargo. It would be a parties embargo. It’s the likely reason no one has heard anything outside of the top brass.
If the top brass include the CEO and director of football then I'm sure that information will be passed on to Pep in an informal way as they are so close. Also if some of the other directors might be given the nod so you can imagine although everyone has been told to keep it confidential then people will probably get a good idea of how the verdict goes by their mood and behaviour.
