But surely if Pep knew and he was trying to distance himself I very much doubt he would follow the pretence of saying how confident he was.

If we have lost, which would be a huge blow to him and his team, there is not a chance the club would allow, or Pep would choose to answer questions, on a subject and pretend everything is ok.

Could you imagine the discussion. We have lost the appeal Pep but would you mind going out, facing the press, and say how confident you are and how you have took a keen interest and are convinced were innocent.

Well, not much from our friends in the press tonight, guess theres few who's nervous that they have bet on the wrong horse.

All the press are running the interview with Pep which uses language that pretty much tells you that we have lost. So not sure what you mean about backing the wrong horse ?

Not sure what PR games City have tried to play this weekend but that Pep interview sums it up

"Aside from the CEO, the Finance Director, the Chairman, the key non-executive go between Abu Dhabi and City and the General Counsel, 90% of the people here today weren't even involved at the time of the breaches. I am so so so confident we will be completely cleared and the club will explain its next steps of appeal on Monday."

uh...

Based on those pep quotes I think we’ve lost especially the part about how 90% of it happened with other people. Sounds like deflection and a bit of hidden anger like “we’re getting fucked by Some decisions from other people”.

Not confident at all now
Based on Peps quotes.
He said he was very confident that we will be playing CL football next season.
So now you think we've lost.

From the "long time ago" quote, there are two not so good things I can infer. Either Pep knows that we have lost and he is trying to distance himself and his staff so that media won't be after him. That's why he keeps on mentioning "on the pitch" every time just to show that he has done his job and he is not involved in anything else.
Yet all those at the club then ("a long time ago") are his own personal mates, who he has other businesses with.

Well that's a first, me agreeing with frank.

This is where I get stumped. It's hard to make sense of what he actually means. I was very confident yesterday. After reading those quotes, I honestly don't know what to think.

I was completely convinced before now all the doubts have creeped in. Probably should of avoided this thread tonight

I thought it was Pep’s way of saying it was long before my time here and distancing himself from it.
Could just as easily be Pep flagging the reasoning behind the CAS decision. Presumably if Pep knows the decision, he will also know the basics of the grounds for that decision. Mind you, I suspect I'm straw clutching a bit there because I can't really pretend to like the sound of it as it's described here. Doesn't exactly sound like something anyone would say about an exoneration. In what context did Pep say it was " great, great news"?
