CAS judgement: UEFA ban overturned, City exonerated (report out p603)

Dont normally listen to Talksport but I must admit, im looking forward to listening to Durham shoot a few people down later.
He's got a soft spot for City and is not a fan of FFP so fingers crossed there'll be enough people put in their place for an entertaining listen.

No. Art 56 is a clause of FFP. We breached it. Hence anyone saying we breached FFP is technically correct and therefore no claim for defamation can subsist!!

That's his clear implication though. Significantly he neglects to mention the fact that CAS completely cleared City of the main accusation that they disguised equity funding as sponsorship contributions.

It's finished at Nyon, UEFA have done all they can to get the 3 points. Manchester City are still alive here...
Ferran... KHAAAAAAAAAALDOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!!!

He used to go City quite often he told me once, can't remember now but I think he went to Manchester Uni.

Only just been able to assess the verdict so well done ADUG team and its legal people and well done to all of us who had little to go off other than blind faith that our owners told us the truth.
So much knowledge on the thread which swayed me one way then the other with Stefan, Peter Colin and many others pooling information and informed opinion.
So pleased TH and others kept me sane during the last couple of days but what a thread.

Do I read it tight?

We are completely exonerated for the main charge according to UEFA rules but guilty of not cooperating with UEFA again against UEFA rules despite having good reasons not to do so.Fine for us reduced to 10m euro

Sky Sports,

What about the Premier League investigation into Manchester City?
As well as the UEFA investigation, Manchester City are also being investigated by the Premier League over financial issues, academy recruitment and third-party ownership.

That Premier League investigation - which has been running since March 2019 - remains ongoing

I did'nt know we were under investigation for 3rd party ownership?
That's totally false. The academy case was dropped and it has never been about third party ownership. The blitz of fake news just goes on and on.

You are correct. Where an obligation exists to co-operate with investigators it is not for the subject of the investigation to decide whether or not to co-operate. It's an allegation it's very difficult to lose on and we never denied it anyway but simply offered mitigation.

If you think about it, if non-co-operation was permitted, those who were up to no good would never co-operate thus denying investigators evidence they are entitled to. So whilst we had good trust-related (and probably commercial) reasons not to co-operate, it would be an exceptional ruling to find in our favour. I think that will go to costs but @Shads may be correct as regards arbitration. I've only been involved in High Court proceedings.

It could also be said that they knew - and didnt need our input - that they were out of time and yet proceeded to drag our name through costs and ensure we spent a kings ransom on legal fees.
All things considered why should we not be permitted to claim these back. They KNEW they were out of time. It was a waste of our time, CAS time and their own time.
Not only should we be able to claim costs but we should now seek recompense for reputational damage.

I hope they do too, it’d be hilarious

Not a chance for 2 reasons.

1 .Both parties have to agree that an arbitration result at CAS is final, and legally binding before the process can even begin.Hence why City would not have actually challenged the ruling it self, had we lost. But gone after FFP in the higher Courts.

2. UEFA didn't event abide by their own statue of limitations ffs.

Not a Leg to stand on.

Well done Blues, it's great to see and feel there is still passion for our club. Especially after recent events with many fans saying they've had enough with VAR etc.

Absolutely agree. It's a bit of a technical issue anyway but someone did ask. The point is, we're laughing.
