CAS judgement: UEFA ban overturned, City exonerated (report out p603)

Horrible wait this morning watching Sky Sports News. The verdict was late and when it emerged there was an uncomfortable silence in the studio as we ripped their pre-prepared script apart. Similar on Talkshite - we left them with nothing to say.

Worst comment was by Sue Smith on the BBC 'They're still being fined so they must have broken the rules'. She needs to do some research before making any stupid comments.
I had talk shite on..... Some woman, McCoist and Jason Bent.
Spent 30 mins before talking about the implications of losing.....
Then the announcement and spent next 30 mins talking about the implications had we lost......
Only great bit was an interview with a very upbeat Chris Bird who said he had no doubt all along it was not guilty. Said UEFA were accuser, judge and jury and it has to be independent.

Time for bed, work in the morning..

Just want to say 'What an absolutely brilliant day it's been today'

The shit we've had shovelled at us by all and sundry for the best part of a decade has been shown up to be the biggest, modern day which hunt of a football club on record..!

Day after day, month after month and year after year, we have had to field these attacks on our club and hold our council..

Well today you fuckers, the boot's on the other foot..!

We're no cheats, liars and frauds..!

We are quite simply, the best football team this Country has ever seen..!

Our records and achiements have been acquired on merit..!

We haven't got the most expensive footballers in the world, we haven’t broken the transfer record, we don't have knobs, playing for us, managing us or running our club..

We have an owner like no other. An owner who has redeveloped large swathes of East Manchester, created 100's of local jobs and has embraced the community as a whole..!

We are MANCHESTER CITY, the team I'm proud to support, the team I'm proud to be associated with..!

Suck that up, you spineless, gutless twats..!
Never been more proud to be a blue than when
hearing that verdict.

One cool dude, 13 months on but still worth a listen.

Worth remembering. Guys like Soriano and Khaldoon don't put their honor at stake lightly.
They have been totally vindicated. Note Khaldoon's command of the facts here. Journos, take note.
Thank you to those two guys, to the principal owner and all the staff, lawyers and all those who helped.
Well done, you played a blinder.

Just want to leave my own personal shout out to Ferran Sorriano. The man looked straight down the camera lens and called out these allegations as completely unfounded while this process was still in the balance and put his neck on the line. For me that was the moment I went to 90+% sure we would be ok as there was no doubting the man's sincerity only the possibility of a UEFA stitch-up to consider. The whole club deserve credit really for the quiet dignity with which this smear campaign has been handled.
I just love our club.

Good evening blue mooners. What a joyous day. I’ve not been on here all day as I’ve been busy on twitter dealing with the fuckwits. It’s been great. Thank God for our legal team. I want City to appeal the fine now.

It is genuinly impressive that Khaldoon is so on point with the finest nuance. He sees what the man on the street with some nouse does and applies it on a business level with effortless ease. It is easy to get bogged down in bureaucracy and red tape in business. Khaldoon has stayed sharp and resistant to it all, to his absolute credit.

This guy is exactly who you would dream of running your assets in any avenue, sport or business.

So...

FA investigation DONE

FIFA investigation DONE

UEFA investigation DONE

Premier League investigation ONGOING

UEFA was the biggie but the PL are looking at FFP and Academy Recruitment with the threat of a fine a transfer embargo or even a points deduction. I think it will be harder for them to prove anything after today and deals are usually done in a less public way than UEFA.

I'm throughly sick of it all. Where are all the investigations into Liverpool and United?

It's interesting that the press are saying PL rules do not have any time bar connected to them. That by all accounts is true but can anyone remember what they said when asked about Liverpool allegedly hacking our computers? Wasn't it along the lines of forget it that was ages ago.....

Interested to hear from @projectriver and @Prestwich_Blue on this one.

Sorry if already covered but curious to know something about the allegations that were time-barred.

Did the time-barring come into effect from the date the formal investigation was launched or from the date UEFA charged City?

I do worry about the PL investigation.
Everyone's looking for blood.

Absolute bunch of crooked bastards that keep trying to fk us over.

Our chairman and owner has got to be getting sick of this too. I'm sure this isn't what he expected when he thought he'd invest in a football club.
We just need some stability so people can enjoy the success a bit instead of constantly looking over our shoulder. Jesus, all because someone invested in the club.

That bit gets me too... Liverpool are already known to have hacked into our scouting network – but even the most cursory of Google serches throws up countless instances of their owners doing the same thing in the US, as well as many doping charges... yet not even a whisper of how dodgy they are.
Then you take United – aren't they registered as a business in the Cayman Islands? They bank there too... isn't that a tax haven? Are they avoiding taxes maybe – or worse? How transparent are their banking/finances when it comes to PL or UEFA scrutiny?
