CAS judgement: UEFA ban overturned, City exonerated (report out p603)

Now the cartel have failed to fuck us via UEFA it looks like they are now pinning their hopes on the Premier League shafting us. Out of interest, if and it’s a big IF, the Premier League decided to say dock us points or whatever, what would be City’s line of appeal, would it be in court or back to CAS?

Wont happen mate.

I still think there may be some mileage in this. The way this is being spun, is not the full exoneration Khaldoon wanted. I would be suprised if there was not some more 'clarification' in the clubs full statment after they have seen the full judgement.

No doubt.

City will clear up what exactly the alleged breaches were, which ones were not evidenced and which ones were time barred.

It is being widely reported that nobody associated with City knew the decision on Friday. Same at UEFA's side. It was genuinely given to both parties yesterday morning a couple of hours before it was published. That's kinda mental. We really did take a 'shit or bust' approach with this case.

Looking forward to the full judgment and Stefan's analysis of it. Will be interesting to see what it says, but my bet is it'll say more or less that everything in the leaks pre 2014 the panel simply couldn't look at, and the only post 2014 issue was the Etihad sponsorship deal which UEFA were never going to be able to prove anything about.

In the end it really was as simple as a lot of us thought it would be at the start in terms of what the main issues at play were.

One poster on here said on Friday that he’d heard we’d won the case. @Tim of the Oak has confirmed he heard the same on Friday - I’ve known Tim for years and got absolutely no reason to disbelieve him. I got a message on Sunday evening (about third hand admittedly) that we’d won and the staff who were at work on Friday were told as much. Another poster said an e-mail went round on Friday to various recipients - presumably not from the club of course - saying we’d won and that’s where Cheesy got his info from because he was one of those copied in on it.

I don’t know who your sources are but with all due respect they’re utter dogshit mate as there’s not a chance the club only found out yesterday. Numerous people inside and outside the club knew the result from Friday onwards but the beautiful thing is that it seems nobody bothered to tell the gutter press. Fuck ‘em!

That would fall in with our statement at 9.32 there wasn't much meat on the bone.

Yep, waiting for piledrivers analysis too.

Doc us points for what though? We were found not guilty of ANY of the serious charges? It’s just sad bastards looking for clicks. We’ve no case to answer at all now

the Prem might make a bit of noise over this in the coming months, but i dont think they will do anything about it, they have seen the size of ours and i dont think they would really want to unzip and compare in public. If they did and lost where does that leave there credibility?

City's 10 incher v the PL's micro-penis.

Pretty sure the PL will say "nah you're alright".

I certainly hope so and I am confident City can see off any renewed shenanigans from our buddies in the Hateful Eight but always nice to know what are options are.

If the PL did go for us (and it’s a big if) looking at the alleged offences I think if found guilty (and it’s a big if) the worst that would happen would be a fine and a transfer ban for 1 or 2 windows. A scratch on the flesh compared to the life threatening wounds we were facing 24 hours ago

That's clickbait. It will NEVER happen.

There is a pattern here..
  • The media push for investigation into "whatever" (based on clickbait reports that they've created)
  • The authorities investigate - find nothing.
  • Media frenzy when we are not found guilty.
  • Round and round we go.

This will be the same, I expect pep or our owners to highlight this.

You're wrong, but it's really not that big of a deal. I always felt that if we were cleared, there'd be a groundswell of people on here backing their mates up and going "see, he was right, we knew all along". We didn't, Pep didn't, Soriano didn't, Khaldoon didn't. What they did know is that their lawyers felt they'd done more than enough to win it.

Why do you think 7 year old revelations about Liverpool illegally hacking a fellow Premier League clubs' scouting system magically popped up last year?

No one thinks it's a little bit convenient that the Premier League ruled on something being too old to action, just a few months before they'd be forced to make a decision on whether to go after us for things in 2014?

The Premier League isn't going to do shit.

Allez Allez Allez
