David Silva leaves City after 10 years

This makes me sad AS FUCK. My goodness. @SebastianBlue , your post really made it hit home. Fuck man.

Silva literally changed the way I look at the game and how it's played. These recent years, he always my favorite player (along with Vinny), and strangely enough I always bought everyone else's shirt but his :(.

Not even being dramatic: I swear to God I will cry if we don't get David Silva a Champions League medal.

Gutted we won’t be able to give him the send off he deserves. He has given me more joy as a city fan than anyone else. The word legend doesn’t do him justice

My favourite modern player he's genius. What's special about him is that he's different, the way he manipulates the ball and controls games. Add to that he's the perfect professional with an immense attitude and we can safely use the words City Legend in this instance with ease.

Wherever you go maestro you'll always be our blue.

He doesn't owe us anything, but one things for sure - he's clearly still good enough for another season here!

Let's see if he can get an extra couple of trophies on his CV before the season ends.

Such a travesty - it would have been a spine tingling moment for sure for all blues.
Loving 1894’s plan for him on 7th.

If only David had been 6ft 7in and had a right foot he'd have been some fuckin' player! Think I'll have El Mago on next season's shirt. I've seen some midfielders in my time - Bobby Johnstone, Peter Dobing, Ali Bernabia, Kinky - but none 'em, collectively, has given me as much viewing pleasure as our Spanish Puskas (and I refer to Puskas as the Hungarian Silva!) Adios, amigo, I wish you and your family all the joy in the world, but I know it doesn't come near what you've given MCFC fans over the last ten years.

Incredible stats.

I think it's the right time for him to go to be honest. In hindsight wouldn't you have preferred Yaya to leave at his peak? Kompany left at the right time too.

I was really hoping the club would do a Zidane style documentary on him for his last appearance.

I would commit a wide variety of heinous crimes to watch David play for ninety minutes with that cinematography.

Yep rather legends leave at the top of there game. Let’s hope we win at least one more trophy this season to see him of well.

Kompany left at the right time, signing off with that goal and lifting two more trophies in his final week
Silva hopefully leaving us after becoming the Legend of Lisbon
Aguero well, he's coming for 200 PL goals and its back to Argentina

If I remember correctly the champions league is the only trophy silva has not won?

What a way for the guys to pay him back - if we could win it this year, in his last game for city !

Poetic Justice for Manchester City and David Silva.

He is the most decorated player in our history. A stunning player. Can we not ask him for another year? I get the leaving when it's right argument but he looks easily capable of continuing.
He has more than earnt the right to leave on his terms, not the fans. He has decided that time is now and that needs to be respected.

It would be amazing if he came back in any capacity, but whatever he wants to do i'm sure we will all support him 100% (except going to the rags or Liverpool!). I think Dave understands half spaces, first touch with body positioning and when to play a ball better than anyone we've ever seen.

He owes us nowt. It's been a privilege to watch him, where do you start to list all his goals and assists? Could have played, literally, for any team in the world, but he chose us.

He deserves a statue in gold. A bloody big one. If he's putting his family first now, fair dos.

I have a few shirts with his name on the back (City and Spain) and they are invariably the ones in the worst condition because whenever I was picking one to wear for a game, to play in the park, or go down to the local, his were the first choice. No rival fan could ever say a bad word and they would often prompt a discussion about how quietly world class he was. Nearly everyone I chatted with about David sung his praises and proclaimed that they wished he’d played for their club.

He was, is, and will continue to be the personification of what I love about football.

He may be diminutive in stature, but he is a giant in his influence on the sport.

The king is leaving, long may he remain.

Yep. It’s better to leave with everyone wanting more.

I think his heightened form has probably coincided with him having a long break with lockdown, for he also started the season well too but then started to tail off in early winter as the volume of games/ age took their collective toll.

A fabulous player, let’s hope he can win the missing piece of his trophy laden jigsaw in Lisbon.
