CAS judgement: UEFA ban overturned, City exonerated (report out p603)

Which they should be allowed to do. It’s not just self interest as he is arguing FFP doesn’t protect against owners fleecing the club and that investment should be allowed if the owner covers the debt. Imagine United arguing for that!

I find he criticises City (rarely) when we deserve it and supports us when we we are in the right. That’s what I want from a pundit not blind support or vitriol. Just neutrality and a brain.

cough...tactical fouling...cough.

We do/did ....Fernandinho is a master at it.

Again I don’t want someone blowing smoke up our arses like United and Liverpool get just impartiality.
Not having that at all. Neville created the whole narrative around Fernandinho and tactical fouls in a way that was never done before. Not out of interest for the game but purely to creative a mindset that City / Fernandinho are somehow far different than any other team or player and pushing that with referees and other commentators. He succeeded as well as fern will forever now be branded a player who relies on a tactical fouls to stop opposition players and whenever he commits any kind of foul the commentator whoever that is mentions ‘tactical foul’ instantly and refs are all over him now.

This
Don't fall for any of rat boys rhetoric There is ALWAYS an ulterior motive.

I reckon it's going to transpire that City just blamed it all on Chelsea fans. Works for Liverpool.

Hardly never done before. What is Leeds’ nickname again? Dirty Leeds!

There is no need to look for an alternative reason for a pundit supporting us of all things. Neither is there a reason why a pundit should always support us just because it’s our club.

When a pundit supports us and comes from the opposition clubs historically that should be welcomed whether its GN or Souness. Or would we prefer wall to wall Carragher..

Are we waiting for the Russia report to be digested before we release ? Lol

fucking hurry up

Why do we seem to be the only team called out on it though?

For other team's its just 'clumsy', 'late', 'mistimed' or an 'accidental coming-together'.

Not wanting to get bogged down in Fern but honestly I think we play differently to the vast majority of teams with a very high line so if we lose possession we have to get it back and fast. If fair means don’t work then it’s Ferns job to spot the danger and foul if necessary. So the fouls he makes are critical or the opposition are through on goal and it’s part of how we play.

GN or anyone else pointing it out is obvious to my mind. I can remember some ex blue on the radio saying the same thing and laughing about it as he’s so good at it.

It’s just because GN is a red. If he was a blue his support for us on FFP would be applauded.

When Neville started out as a pundit for Sky he was advised whatever happens in the game make sure you don't miss the story. Seems he's taken it a step on, if there's no story, make one up!

Yeah it's the way we press really. The first thing we try to do is win the ball back. If that fails we do whatever we can to force them to play a long wasteful ball, kick it out of play, or play a pass that can be intercepted easily. And finally if they break through it's fouling time, as otherwise we're exposed.
This is different to Liverpool for example, who generally slowly close in en masse and wait for the moment to pounce on you with big numbers, leading to turnovers in dangerous places with lots of attackers at hand. If they sense they can't win the ball though they drop back very quickly and defend with numbers.

We're more guilty of tactical fouls this season because our press has been shit, first line is getting breached too often and we are tactical fouling as a result , the yellow card count bears this out. The last couple of seasons we haven't been tactical fouling all that often despite what Neville says because we didn't need to.

City control what questions are answered* at a press conference. The press officer bats away anything they dont want Pep to answer and moves them on to the game if they dont get there on their own.

Last week, City only wanted to talk about the CAS verdict, so that's all they talked about
They don't control press conferences ,we have been complaining right back to Bobby that they don't offer them any protection
