CAS judgement: UEFA ban overturned, City exonerated (report out p603)

It's clear some people are happy to claim the emails were rock solid proof. Even though you'd think it would be easy to find supporting evidence if that was the case and they could not, instead City showed contradictory evidence to their claims from witnesses and accounting data.

Those emails do still make bad reading though. I still have thing's I'm not sure on and what our arguments were against them such as:

Is it the Club's position that certain people in the emails were unsure of how it all works, who incorrectly referenced things to be coming from ADUG. Which were instead coming from Etihad central fund in the main?

Jorge Chumillas in particular gave the anti-city agenda plenty to work with but he also said "I need to understand the mechanism" when asking for Simon Peirce's guidance, showing he was indeed confused.

Did all the money from Etihad go directly to the club or did some go through ADUG as the owner of CFG?

Was a 3rd party not named to make up the deficit as we originally believed happened for those dates in question?

Considering CFG is comprised of several other clubs, that all take Etihad sponsorship funds. I thought our defence would be, that a third party paid the £59.5m deficit into ADUG, who then distributed this money between CFG clubs accordingly. What I've read so far is making second guess that now. Which I guess is still ok because they still had no proof but how do we explain what the phrase "ADUG contributions" meant if everything was coming directly through Etihad? Surely I'm missing something there, our legal team wouldn't make such an obvious blunder. Unless the defence really was only on the basis that suggesting something in a email is not the same as completing an action.

Maybe it's being picky I just would have liked some more conclusive answers to destroy the email led story outright.
WTF?

PB said months ago that the only evidence UEFA had were the Der Spiegel newspaper articles. I think many of us found that very difficult to believe, not because we didn’t trust what he was saying but because we found it almost impossible to comprehend how they could bring charges based solely on “evidence” that you, I, or anyone could’ve come up with.

I wonder who told Colin;)

Do you mean in anything? Ever? You don’t think media relations has anything to do with her? Martin Samuel does a better job of our media relations than she does, and he is employed by the daily fucking mail
Not in this case obviously not . What do you think she should do? Pretty sure she'd soon be out of a job if she decided any club response, of her own back. Don't know why you have an issue with her, the club don't seem to, so she must be doing something right. At least in the opinion of those who employ her and know what her job is.

That's not going to be easy when these same red clubs in England have the press in their pocket.
Exactly, click bait survival needs a complete disregard for the truth.
Concentrate on our guilt then the masses will follow. The truth for the time being must be ignored. Pool and Utd supporters will look elsewhere if their normal diet of vitriol is curtailed. Give them what they want whether its lies or not does not matter.

There comes a time when the person or people defending the club in front of the media should not be limited to the first team coach.

I agree completely and will be very surprised if we dont see another interview or statement from Kaldoon shortly. I suspect our silence to date is planned in detail and on legal advise.

Only way to shut the media up is by obliterating the opposition on the pitch especially the nine cowards who wanted to put the boot in when we were down. We are never going to convince the plastic thick fuckers of the nine that we were cleared of the major wrongdoing completely. Just hope next season all the chances we have every game we stick away especially against these teams.

Why? Because her remit is covering, amongst other things, media and press relations, communications, and PR. I have NEVER ONCE heard or read of her robustly defending the club’s name, or rejecting the malicious falsehoods printed about our club. Not once. Given her role, and the seniority of it I find that scandalous. That’s why.

Yes I am sure she is happy to leave it to Khaldoon, or Ferran, or more likely to our coach, who said more in one press conference in defence of our club than our Head of Media, PR and Comms has done in a career of many years (forgive me for not knowing the exact job title, tbh it’s hard to tell what she does)
I've spoken to Gary Cooke on this matter and his take is that she does as she is told and its no good getting into a public fight with the press when they control what is printed, very similar to the stance Nike took in backing up Lance Armstrong and Tiger Woods.
Its frustrating for us as fans having to constantly read and hear these snide remarks, but that is the way they want to play it

This.

We keep winning trophies, bringing in hundreds of millions in sponsorships and investments and winning the hearts of a lot of the young kids around these days. Kids are growing up with City being the number one, that reflects in the future. People keep banging on about our bad press and how its having an impact, I would love to know exactly where this impact is because all I am seeing us getting more and more powerful in the game and richer each year. God forbid we have Tony from Essex calling us "oily arabs and dirty cash" whilst he tucks into his burger and chips in his armchair watching the rags and reading the mail.

Imagine calling out Vicky Kloss as some sort of no mark and crap at her job, if that was the case Ferran/Khaldoon/HH would have acted. They haven't.

Not good enough for some on here though it seems.

Unfortunately that's the general attitude of too many people in this country, if you're charged with something it's not "innocent until proven guilty", it's "you must've done something". It's pathetic.
Have you read “Richer than God”? Conn is pitifully naive and therefore, in my eyes, lacking intelligence where it matters.

Do you know the name of the Head of Comms in any other.football club?

Anyone else wondering how we have sent 5.5m emails in 10 years? Maths isn't my strong point but I make that 10000+ emails per week, every week for 10 years. Some people at the club really need to get some work done.
I think it’s was 5.5m emails AND documents.
