Agreed ... assuming we win the Champions League.
 
Its a traditional friendly organised to celebrate the start of a new football season, seriously it's not a serious trophy and never has been , but i would say it's a major tradition and an honour to be asked to play in it. Voluntarily excusing yourself for an extra few days on a sunbed is a major snub but then that's typical of Klopp. They've just had a summer break of nearly 4 months and hung their boots up as soon as they were mathematical winners of the Premier League. No real reason why he can't get his team there but don't give it the 'IT MEANS MORE BOLLOCKS, please
 
All clubs have to prepare for the league season through training and pre-season games.

Liverpool FC perhaps want to put their own lucrative pre-season plans first to make more money. A Wembley pre-season final is perfect football preparation but you don't get £5m from sponsors. Their owners are extremely cynical and care nothing for football.

LFC have damaged the League Cup and FA Cup by virtually dropping out two seasons running but they can do what they want with zero criticism. If City adopted the same approach to the Cups as they have done, we'd be taken apart by the media.

As indeed we were, when Manuel fielded a weakened side against Chelsea in the FA Cup because they made us play the game on the Sunday and we had a CL game on the Tuesday.
 
For all the moaning about City, City’s owner and City’s money... yet the cultists only want to play in competitions that earn them the most money?

All about the money and not actually about winning trophies.

They had 100 days off in the Spring
