Donald Trump

It is corrupt, clear as day. The question is what if he wins a close race. What then.

I partially answered that question in my response to you and have posted about that eventuality quite a bit previously in this thread, as have many others. Winning a “close race”, even one seen as wholly corrupt by many, will give him even more power, especially if the democrats do not manage to take the senate with a significant majority (and at least hold their current majority in the house).

And here is my sourced post thread about the USPS debacle and related actions Trump has taken, which I reference in my response to your initial post (this is just one of many, many collections of actions Trump and his cronies have taken in an attempt to subvert the elections).

Let’s say it again, together now:

The cruelty to many Americans and the blatant retaliation against political enemies *is* the point.

I just don't think the people will stand for it. The hope is he losses and they lose a chunk of the senate and then their can be a Muller II without the obstruction.

But if he claims a win in a very close race I dont see how it will end peacefully.

People won’t stand for it and it won’t end peacefully; I and many others on here have said that.

That’s separate from him gaining more political power in a close, corrupt election “win”, though.

And I provided an overly-simplified outline of what would happen if the Democrats could not hold their majority in the house *and* gain a significant majority in the senate (without certain rule changes simply picking up a narrow majority would not be enough to functionally check Trump’s power and/or impeach/remove him).

Perhaps I am misreading your posts — and please forgive me if I am— but I am confused, as you seem to generally agree with what I have said but respond as if you don’t.

I agree. Just not sure people grasp how close they are heading toward a violent outcome. The second amendment basically instructs states to allow force to be used to ensure they are not subjected to federal corruption.

I completely agree that many do not understand how quickly and severely this could devolve given the right (and not entirely unlikely at this point) set of circumstances.

As I have conceded before, such a devolution could very well ultimately lead to the renewal of the Democratic Republic, but it would likely be very costly in the interim.

We can only hope it does not come to that.

It could get ugly, just look at how many turned up at the Town Hall with assault rifles when lockdown was on. Now imagine their great leader loses what he will claim is a rigged election. These tools will take any chance to play tough guy dress up.

It's already ugly, and it's only going to get worse.

I have posted about how bad it already is and could still get many times but was told that I was becoming a doom monger.

So I was trying to be more reserved with my response. ;-)

The interview on Maddow that I posted above is pretty alarming in itself. There was actually some preamble to that where she read out his statement which sounded even worse.

He couldn’t even get people to show at his Inauguration. Dress up is right. Having said that, to @SebastianBlue’s points, I have underestimated the willingness of Trump and his circle to subvert the election through effectively destroying the infrastructure of the USPS. Mailboxes and being removed in Oregon and Montana and there will be more. The wanton desperation and willingness to violate every norm is palpable. I don’t know what to do, nor who can do anything.

That is incredible that he is doing this in plain sight,i really hope the democrats get the hump and find any which way to vote,he is vote rigging,at least other dictators try and do it covertly

He has got a bee in his bonnet about Harris insulting joe when he is insulting her in the same sentance, maybe Biden is an adult don, someone who can get over campaign battles and admire her for her aggression and how well they can work together

He is repeating himself every day, same old china virus, sleepy joe, next year is going to be a wonderful year so long as someone who knows what they are doing is in charge, joe being vp for eight years trumps, excuse the pun ,trump

His message is getting old, more desperate, throwing out insults left right and centre, thrashing about
